Law No. 21 of 22 February 2001 concerning the acceptance of amendments to the Statute of the International Atomic Energy Agency (A.I.E.A.), adopted at its 43 session of its General Conference on October 1, 1999 published in PARLIAMENT ISSUING the OFFICIAL GAZETTE nr. 102 of 28 February 2001, the Romanian Parliament adopts this law.


The sole article is accepting the amendment to article 24(2). The 14TH amendment and art. VI of the Statute of the International Atomic Energy Agency (A.I.E.A.), adopted at its 43 session of its General Conference on October 1, 1999, as set out in the appendices. 1 and 2 which are an integral part of this law.
This law was adopted by the Senate at its meeting on 11 September 2000, in compliance with the provisions of art. 74 para. (2) of the Constitution of Romania.

PRESIDENT of the CHAMBER of DEPUTIES VALER DANNER Annex 1 amendment to art. XIV of the statutes of the International Atomic Energy Agency-the first sentence of article XIV) replace the word "annually" with the phrase "2 years".


Annex 2 amendments to art. VI of the Statute of the International Atomic Energy Agency i. to replace paragraph) of article VI of the Statute of the Agency, as follows: ") Governing Council is composed as follows: 1. the Board of Governors of which the term of office expires shall designate as members of the 18-member Council, the most advanced in atomic energy technology, including the production of raw materials, the designated seats must be distributed across each region indicated below as follows:-2-North America Latin America Western Europe 2-4 2-eastern part Europe-Africa 2-Middle East and South Asia 2-South-East Asia and the Pacific far East 1-3 2. The General Conference shall elect as members in the Governing Council: a) 22 members, taking into account equitable representation in the Council as a whole or, members of the regions mentioned in paragraph 2. A) 1, so the Council covering all the time in this category:-4 representatives of the Latin American region;
-4 representatives of Western Europe region;
-3 representatives of the region's eastern part Europe;
-5 representatives of the African region;
-region 3 representatives of the Middle East and South Asia;
-2 representatives of the region of South-East Asia and the Pacific;
a representative of the far East;

b) 2 additional members to members of the following regions: Western Europe;
Europe-Eastern Part;
-Middle East and South Asia;

c) a member in addition to members from the following regions: Latin America;
-Eastern Part Europe. "
II. At the end of the article you add a new paragraph as follows: "paragraph K).
