The Romanian Parliament adopts this law + Article UNIC The amendment to art. XIV and amendment to art. VI of the Statute of the International Atomic Energy Agency (A.I.E.A.), adopted at the 43rd session of its General Conference on 1 October 1999, set out in Annexes no. 1 and 2 which form an integral part of this law. This law was adopted by the Senate at the meeting of September 11, 2000, in compliance with the provisions of art 74 74 para. (2) of the Romanian Constitution. p. SENATE PRESIDENT, DORU IOAN TARACILA This law was adopted by the Chamber of Deputies at the meeting of February 6, 2001, in compliance with the provisions of 74 74 para. (2) of the Romanian Constitution. CHAMBER OF DEPUTIES PRESIDENT VALER DORNEANU + Annex 1 AMENDMENT to art. XIV of the Statute of the International Atomic Energy Agency -In the first sentence of Article XIV A) the word "annual" with the phrase "at 2 years" is replaced. + Annex 2 AMENDMENTS to art. VI of the Statute of the International Atomic Energy Agency I. It is replaced by paragraph A of Article VI of the Statute of the Agency as follows: " A) The Board of Governors shall be composed as follows: 1. The Board of Governors to whom the mandate expires will designate as members of the Council 18 members, the most advanced in the field of atomic energy technology, including the production of raw materials, the designated places must be distributed on each region mentioned below, as follows: --North America 2 --Latin America 2 --Western Europe 4 --Eastern Europe 2 --Africa 2 -Middle East and South Asia 2 -Southeast Asia and the Pacific 1 --Far East 3 2. The General Conference will elect as members of the Governing Council: a) 22 members, in view of the fair representation in the Council, as a whole, of the members of the regions referred to in par. A) 1, so that the Council covers all the time in this category: -4 representatives of the Latin American region; -4 representatives of the Western Europe region; -3 representatives of the Eastern Europe region; -5 representatives of the Africa region; -3 representatives of the Middle East and South Asia; -2 representatives of the Southeast Asia region and the Pacific; -a representative of the Far East region; b) 2 additional members to the members of the following regions: -Western Europe; -Eastern Europe; -Middle East and South Asia; c) an additional member to members of the following regions: -Latin America; --Eastern Europe. " II. A new paragraph shall be added at the end of Article VI as follows: " k) Provisions of para. A), approved by the General Conference on October 1, 1999, will enter into force when the requirements of art. XVIII C) and when the General Conference will confirm the list of Member States of the Agency, which was adopted by the Council, in both cases by a majority of 90% of the members present and voters, by which each Member State is allocated one of the regions referred to in paragraph A) 1. Any subsequent amendment to the list may be made by the Council, with confirmation of the General Conference, in both cases by a majority of 90% of the number of members present and voters and only after consensus has been reached within all regions affected by the change.
