The Romanian Parliament adopts this law + Article 1 (1) The state higher education institution may constitute a fund from extra-budgetary financial resources, intended to grant social scholarships for the entire duration of tuition. (2) Social study grants may also be granted during holidays. + Article 2 Financial resources from which the fund provided for in art. 1 1 are: a) sponsorships from legal and natural persons; b) own income of the state higher education institution; c) donations; d) other legal extra-budgetary sources. + Article 3 Higher education institutions will make public, as the case may be, at least two months before admission, the number of social scholarships of study for profiles and specializations established by the university senate. + Article 4 (1) Students enrolled in the first year who come from families with a monthly income per family member below the minimum gross wage on the economy can benefit from the social scholarship of study for the entire duration of tuition. (2) The social scholarship may be combined with any other scholarship, except for the social assistance scholarship granted on a semi-annual basis according to the norms of the Ministry of National Education. (3) The supporting documents of the income are those required for the granting of the other categories of scholarships. (4) In determining the income per family member shall be taken into account those of the student. Income from other scholarships granted to family members is exempted. + Article 5 The criteria for granting social study grants for the entire duration of schooling, as well as their amount are established by regulation approved by the university senate. + Article 6 The maintenance of the social study scholarship is conditional on the fulfilment of the standard imposed by the university senate in fulfilling the study obligations for the entire duration of schooling and maintaining the social condition provided in art. 4. Within the number of social scholarships of study become available can benefit from these and students from other years of study, under the law. + Article 7 Within 60 days from the date of publication of the present law in the Official Gazette of Romania, Part I, the university senates develop their own regulations for granting social scholarships for the entire duration of schooling. This law was adopted by the Chamber of Deputies at the meeting of October 24, 2000, in compliance with the provisions of 74 74 para. (1) of the Romanian Constitution. p.
