Law No. 171 of 25 November 1999 on the right of the Senate to determine the amount of University fees for examinations for completion of studies of higher education graduates by the particular ISSUER PARLIAMENT Published in MONITORUL OFICIAL nr. 584 of 30 November 1999 the Parliament of Romania adopts this law.

Article 1 with effect from the academic year 1998/1999, the amount of the fees for examinations for the selection, or, if applicable, the graduation of the private higher education graduates is determined and change of host State Senates of universities on the basis of its own currency.

Article 2 the amounts collected from the fees laid down in article 21. 1 will be used to cover the costs of staff and materials for examinations for completion of their studies.

Article 3 the Ministry of national education will develop and will transmit the State Senates of universities organizing methodology for drawing up of the budget estimates.

Article 4 entry into force of the present law shall repeal art. 3 of law No. 64/1997 concerning the right to education, graduates of private post-secondary and higher education to support the completion of studies at institutions of higher education establishments and State, published in the Official Gazette of Romania, part I, no. 73 of 23 April 1997, as well as any other provisions to the contrary.
This law was adopted by the Senate at its meeting of 31 May 1999, in compliance with the provisions of art. 74 para. (2) of the Constitution of Romania.
