Law No. 79 of 11 May 1999 for accepting the amendments brought to the art. 24 and 25 of the Constitution of the World Health Organization, in its resolution adopted in Geneva at 51.23 16 May 1998 by the World Health Assembly, in the context of the 51 session of its PARLIAMENT ISSUING Published in MONITORUL OFICIAL nr. 207 of 13 May 1999, the Romanian Parliament adopts this law.
The sole article Romania accept amendments to art. 24 and 25 of the Constitution of the World Health Organization, in its resolution adopted in Geneva at 51.23 16 May 1998 by the World Health Assembly, in the context of the 51 session of the latter.
This law was adopted by the Senate at its meeting on 1 March 1999, in compliance with the provisions of art. 74 para. (2) of the Constitution of Romania.

Amendments to art. 24 and 25 of the Constitution of the World Health Organization has 51 session of the World Health Assembly, considering that the number of members of the Executive Council should be increased from 32 to 34, so that the number of members in the European Region and Western Pacific region entitled to designate a representative in the Executive Council, may be brought to 8 5, respectively, 1. Adopts the following amendments to article 22. 24 and 25 of the Constitution of the World Health Organization, the texts in the English, Arabic, Chinese, Spanish, French and Russian languages being equally authentic: article 24 shall be replaced by the following: ' the Council consists of 34 persons designated by as many Member States. World Health Assembly elects, taking into account equitable geographical distributions, called on States to designate a delegate Council, înţelegandu that at least three of these members shall be elected from among each of the regional organizations established by application of art. 44. each of these States will send the Council a personality, skilled in the technical field, which may be accompanied by alternates and advisers. "
-Article 25 is replaced by the following: "these members are elected for 3 years and I am reeligibili; However, of the members elected at the first session of the World Health Assembly which will follow after the entry into force of the amendment to the Constitution, changing the number of Council members from 32 to 34, the supplementary members elected mandate will be reduced, where appropriate, the cat is needed to facilitate the election of at least one member from each regional organization in each year. "
2. Decides that two copies of this resolution shall be authenticated by the signature of the President of the 51 session of the World Health Assembly and the Director general of the World Health Organization, one copy to be transmitted to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, depositary of the Constitution, and one copy to be kept in the archives of the World Health Organization.
3. Decides that these amendments acceptance notification by the Member States, in accordance with the provisions of article 3. 73 of the Constitution, shall be made by the deposit of an instrument officially addressed to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, as provided for in art. 79 lit. (b)) of the Constitution, for the acceptance of the Constitution itself.
