LAW No. 23 of 6 May 1993 approving the maximum volume of timber, which will harvest in 1993 PARLIAMENT ISSUING published in MONITORUL OFICIAL NR. 90 of 12 May 1993, the Romanian Parliament adopts this law.

Article 1 the maximum volume of timber, which will harvest in 1993 is 15.0 million cubic meters, of which: a) 11.0 million cubic metres for State-owned and private, as well as for the population of the urban area, the result after processing;

b) 4.0 million cubic metres to meet the needs of the rural population.

Article 2 the maximum volume of 15.0 million cubic meters will be the harvest as follows: 14.6 million cubic metres), from forests managed by Autonomous Regia forest "Rnp" and privately owned forests;

b) 0.4 million cubic meters from wooded, green trees and other lands covered with forest vegetation.

Article 3 the amount of timber from bark and tears of wind and snow, and the resulting from the phenomenon of abnormal dryness, other than that taken into account in determining the amount for 1993 will be capitalized with priority, whichever shall be a equivalent volume from timber cutting on an referred.

Article 4 in order to meet the possibility of Woods during the period 1991-1995, the maximum amount of timber to be harvested in the 1994/95 will be 28.1 million cubic metres. Staggering the remaining annual, will be regulated by law in accordance with the results obtained in studies of normal possibility update cutting and regeneration of forests in relation to the strategy and restructuring of the processing industry, adopted by the Minister.

Violation of article 8 art. 6 and 7 of the present law shall be sanctioned with contraventional jail from 3 to 6 months, or with fine of 500,000 to 2,000,000 lei, if the Act does not constitute infringement.
Woody and fibrous material that was the subject of the contravention shall be forfeit.
When confiscation cannot perform in nature, it shall order the confiscation of the equivalent value in foreign currency, and if this is not feasible, it shall order the payment obligation of the equivalent currency, the lei increased 3 times.
The discovery and application of fine evaluation is carried out by customs bodies.
The provisions of this law shall be completed with the provisions contained in law No. 32/68 on the establishment and sanctioning violations.

Article 9 the provisions of law No. 42/92 shall be repealed, with the exception of art. 6, 7, 9 and 10.
This law was adopted by the Senate at its meeting of 26 April 1993, in compliance with the provisions of art. 74 para. (2) of the Constitution of Romania.

Annex 2 products banned for export WOOD 1. Logs, rafters, mine, railway sleepers, manele balls 2. Fire wood for cellulose and 3. Oak timber and valuable essences (Walnut, cherry, maple, elm and ash) 4. Pallets, Euro pallets, box pallets of oak.
