Proposal for Resolution No. 27 /XI

Considering the wish of the Portuguese Republic and the Democratic and People's Republic of

Algeria to promote the development of cooperation between the two countries in the field

of land transport, the Agreement on international transport was signed

road and transit of passengers and goods.

This Agreement aims to contribute to the development of road transport of

passengers and goods between the two countries, as well as for the development of the

transit through its territories as a mechanism for the development of the

national economies of the Parties and for the strengthening of the relations of friendship between the

two peoples.

For this purpose, the Agreement defines the various types of transport services, the authorisations

necessary for the circulation in the territory of each of the parties as well as the respective

exemptions and still the applicable tax and sanctionatory regime.

Thus:

Under the terms of the paragraph d) of Article 197 (1) of the Constitution, the Government presents to the

Assembly of the Republic the following motion for a resolution:

Approve the Agreement between the Portuguese Republic and the Democratic and People's Republic of

Algeria on International Road and Transit Transit of Passengers and

Goods, signed in Algiers, on June 9, 2008, the text of which, in the versions

authenticated in the Portuguese, Arabic and French languages, it publishes in annex.
