DRAFT LAW NO. 96 / XI (1ª)

EXTENDS BY 360 DAYS THE DEADLINE FOR ENTRY INTO FORCE OF THE DECREE-LAW No. 254/2009,

OF September 24, WHICH, IN THE USE OF THE AUTHORIZATION GRANTED BY LAW NO. 36/2009, OF

July 20, APPROVES THE FOREST CODE.

The Decree-Law No. 254/2009 of September 24, which, in the use of legislative authorization

granted by Law No. 36/2009 of July 20, approves the Forest Code, came to compile and

to update the framing subjects of forest activities, which were found to be dispersed,

and thus approve a structuring document for the sector, which sets out forest policy

national, as well as a set of instruments allowing for its implementation.

However, the comprehensiveness of this Code, its density, its impacts and the complexity

of its regulation require a stake and deeper reflection and saturated by

part of the Government, the Assembly of the Republic and entities connected to the sector.

Thus, under the applicable legal and regimental provisions, the Deputies below

signed present the following Project-Law:

" Article 1.

Extension of the period of entry into force of the Decree-Law No 254/2009 of September 24

The period of entry into force of the Decree-Law No. 254/2009 of September 24, which, in the use of

authorization granted by the Law No. 36/2009 of July 20, approves the Forest Code, is

extended by the period of 360 days.

Article 2.

Entry into force and production of effects

This Law shall come into force on the day following that of its publication and it produces effect on the date of

entry into force of the Decree-Law No. 254/2009 of September 24, 2009. "
