CHAIR OF THE COUNCIL OF MINISTERS

Proposal for Resolution No. 133 /X/4.

Recognizing that the absence of uniform rules of signage, which they target, through their

apprehension and global recognition, facilitate movement and increase security in the

roads, constitutes a serious threat to any strategy of states in combat

effective and consistent with road sinister;

Given that Portugal feels the effects of that sinister, which knows no borders.

Thus:

Under the terms of the paragraph d) of Article 197 (1) of the Constitution, the Government presents to the

Assembly of the Republic the following motion for a resolution:

To approve the Convention on Road Signs, adopted in Vienna, at 8 of

November 1968, the text of which, in the authenticated version in the French language, as well as the

its respective translation into Portuguese language, it publishes in annex.

Seen and approved in Council of Ministers of January 21, 2009
