PRESIDENCY of the COUNCIL of MINISTERS RESOLUTION No. 137/X/4th since, at present, the principles established by the Convention on the abolition of criminal penalties for breach of the contract of employment by Indigenous workers have no field of application possible in Portugal; Considering the strategy of modernizadora transformation of labour legislation that is currently being pursued; Desiring to promote the objectives and instruments of Portuguese cooperation through appropriate participation in the multilateral system; So: under d) of paragraph 1 of article 197 of the Constitution, the Government presents to the Assembly of the Republic the following resolution: to approve the withdrawal by the Portuguese Republic to the Convention on the abolition of criminal penalties for breach of the contract of employment by Indigenous workers, adopted at the 38.ª Session of the General Conference of the International Labour Organization in Geneva, 21 June 1955, approved for ratification by Decree-Law n° 42691 of 30 November 1959.
