Proposal for Resolution No. 122 /X

Considering that customs cooperation in the European Union is a component

important in the area of freedom, security and justice;

Taking into account that the exchange of information between the customs services of the

various Member States is an essential aspect of such cooperation;

Considering the need to improve cooperation and make the collection more effective, the

treatment and the exchange of classified information, indispensable to combating fraud

customs and tax and the forms of crime that are associated with it.

Thus:

Under the terms of the paragraph d) of Article 197 (1) of the Constitution the Government presents to the

Assembly of the Republic the following motion for a resolution:

Approves the Protocol established under Article 34 of the Treaty on European Union,

amending, with regard to the creation of a file for identification of the processes of

customs survey, the Convention on the Use of Informatics in the Field

Customs, signed in Brussels, on May 8, 2003, the text of which in the authenticated version

in Portuguese language follows attachment.
