Proposal for Resolution No. 100 /X

Considering that the Convention on International Civil Aviation adopted in Chicago,

to December 7, 1944, and of which the Portuguese Republic is Party, defines certain

principles and measures aimed at developing international civil aviation in a manner

safe and orderly, thus establishing international air transport services

on a basis of equal opportunities for the operation of such services

effective and economic;

Bearing in mind that the Assembly of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO)

at its twenty-first session in Montreal, on October 14, 1974, having at

consideration of the desire of the Contracting States to proceed to the enlargement of the number

of the members of the Council approved, in accordance with Art. 94 (94) a) of the Convention

on International Civil Aviation, adopted in Chicago, on December 7, 1944, of which

the Portuguese Republic is Party, the amendment to Article 50 (a) a) of the said Convention,

altering from thirty to thirty to three the number of Council members, which allows

ensure a greater balance of this body, by increasing representation of states

Under the terms of the paragraph d) of Article 197 (1) of the Constitution, the Government presents to the

Assembly of the Republic the following motion for a resolution:

Approving the Protocol on an Amendment to Article 50 (a) a) of the Convention on

International Civil Aviation, adopted in Montreal on October 16, 1974, the text of which,

in the authenticated version in the English language, as well as the respective translation for language

Portuguese, if published in annex.
