Listening to the desire to strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation between peoples

Portuguese and Chinese;

Aware of the interest for both states to strengthen judicial cooperation in the

penal field;

Bearing in mind that the Treaty between the Portuguese Republic and the People's Republic of

China on the Transfer of Condensed Persons aims to facilitate compliance with the penalty

in the country of the nationality of the sentenced person, so as to contribute to his / her

social reintegration.

Thus:

Under the terms of the paragraph d) of Article 197 of the Constitution, the Government presents to the Assembly

of the Republic the following motion for a resolution:

To approve the Treaty between the Portuguese Republic and the People's Republic of China on the

Transfer of Condensed People, signed in Beijing, on January 31, 2007, whose

text, in the authenticated versions in the Portuguese, Chinese and English languages, it publishes in annex

Seen and approved in Council of Ministers of June 19, 2008
