Attending to which the Portuguese Republic is a part of the North Atlantic Treaty, adopted

in Washington on April 4, 1949;

Considering that the decision to invite the Republic of Albania to join the Organization of the

North Atlantic treaty was taken by consensus by the Heads of State and of

Government of the Atlantic Alliance, at the Bucharest Summit in April 2008.

Thus:

Under the terms of the paragraph d) of Article 197 (1) of the Constitution, the Government presents to the

Assembly of the Republic the following Proposal for a Resolution:

To approve the Protocol of accession of the Republic of Albania to the North Atlantic Treaty,

signed in Brussels on July 9, 2008, the text of which, in the authenticated versions in the

languages English and French, as well as the respective translation into Portuguese language, if

publish in attachment.
