PRESIDENCY of the COUNCIL of MINISTERS resolution No. 109/X given the desire to strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the Portuguese and Chinese people; Aware of the importance to both States to develop and strengthen judicial cooperation in the criminal field; Considering that this agreement aims to strengthen cooperation in criminal matters between the Portuguese Republic and the People's Republic of China, providing for the delivery of documents or providing other means of evidence in criminal proceedings, the temporary surrender of persons detained for acts of investigation or the witnesses, as well as several other procedures and mechanisms to facilitate the investigation and criminal justice. So: under d) of paragraph 1 of article 197 of the Constitution, the Government presents to the Assembly of the Republic the following resolution: the agreement between the Portuguese Republic and the People's Republic of China on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters, signed at Lisbon, on 9 December 2005, whose text, authenticated versions in Portuguese , Chinese and English, if published in the annex.
