CHAIR OF THE COUNCIL OF MINISTERS

Proposal for Resolution No. 109 /X

Listening to the desire to strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation between peoples

Portuguese and Chinese;

Aware of the interest for both states to develop and consolidate cooperation

judicial in the criminal field;

Bearing in mind that the present Agreement aims to consolidate cooperation in criminal matters between

Portuguese Republic and the People's Republic of China, providing for the delivery of documents or

provision of other means of evidence in criminal proceedings, the temporary delivery of persons

held for acts of investigation or the notification of witnesses, as well as several others

procedures and mechanisms designed to facilitate criminal investigation and justice.

Thus:

Under the terms of the paragraph d) of Article 197 (1) of the Constitution, the Government presents to the

Assembly of the Republic the following motion for a resolution:

Approve the Agreement between the Portuguese Republic and the People's Republic of China on Aid

Mutual Judiciary in Criminal Matters, signed in Lisbon, on December 9, 2005, the text of which,

in the authenticated versions in the Portuguese, Chinese and English languages, it publishes in attachment.
