Listening to the desire to strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation between peoples

portuguese and Moroccan;

Aware of the interest for both states to promote cooperation in the field

penal, particularly in the matter of extradition;

Bearing in mind that the Convention in Matter of Extradition between the Portuguese Republic and

the Kingdom of Morocco aims to strengthen cooperation between the two countries on

prevention and elimination of crime by means of arrangements for the reciprocal extradition of

persons for purposes of criminal procedure or for fulfillment of a custodising sentence of the

freedom applied by a court of the Parties.

Thus:

Under the terms of the paragraph d) of Article 197 (1) of the Constitution, the Government presents to the

Assembly of the Republic the following motion for a resolution:

To approve the Convention in Matter of Extradition between the Portuguese Republic and the Kingdom of

Morocco, signed in Rabat, on April 17, 2007, the text of which, in the authenticated versions

in the Portuguese, Arabic and French languages, it publishes in attachment.
