MOTION for a RESOLUTION paragraph 78/X having regard to article 27 of the Statute of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia adopted by the United Nations Security Council in resolution 827 your, of 25 May 1993, which States that the imprisonment of people for this condemned should be served in a State designated by the International Tribunal from the list of States which have indicated to the Security Council the availability for your receive sentenced persons; Given that the Portuguese Republic adopted a law establishing rules on cooperation between Portugal and the International Criminal Tribunals for the former Yugoslavia and for Rwanda (Law No. 102/2001 of 25 August); Whereas the Portuguese Republic made a statement, in accordance with article 27 of the Statute of the Court and the Portuguese law, in which expresses your willingness to receive people convicted by the International Tribunal for the purpose of enforcement of prison sentences.

So: under d) of paragraph 1 of article 197 of the Constitution, the Government presents to the Assembly of the Republic the following resolution: Approving the agreement between the Portuguese Republic and the United Nations on the implementation of sentences of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, done at the Hague to 19 December 2007, whose text, authenticated versions in Portuguese and English If published in the annex.
