MOTION FOR RESOLUTION No. 63 /X
The Convention for the Safeguard of Cultural Heritage Imaterial, adopted in Paris, the
October 17, 2003, during the 32 th Session of the General Conference of UNESCO,
expresses a greater demand from the international community, in particular from UNESCO and
of its member states, with the Cultural Heritage Imaterial in the face of risks
emerging from globalization, mass tourism, regional armed conflicts and the
growing vulnerability of the rural world;
The Convention seeks to situate the Cultural Heritage Imaterial at a conditionnal scale and
to supply some lesser attention that to the same has been given in the past;
Thus:
Under the terms of the paragraph d) of Article 197 (1) of the Constitution, the Government presents to the
Assembly of the Republic the following motion for a resolution:
Approving the Convention for the Safeguard of Cultural Heritage Imaterial, adopted
in Paris, on October 17, 2003, the text of which, in the authenticated versions in the language
french and english, as well as the respective translation for Portuguese language, if they publish
in attachment.
