Displacement of the President of the Republic to Rio de Janeiro

His Excellency the President of the Republic required, pursuant to paragraph 1 of the article

129 and (b) of Article 163 of the Constitution, the Assembly's assentiment of the

Republic to be absent from the national territory, on displacement of official character to the

Rio de Janeiro from 6 a to 10 next March in order to participate, at the invitation of your

Brazilian counterpart, in the Commemorations of the 200 Years of the Arrival of the Court

Portuguese to that city.

Thus, I present to the Assembly of the Republic, in the regimental terms, the following

draft resolution:

" The Assembly of the Republic resolves, in accordance with point (b) of the article

163 and Article 166 (5) of the Constitution, give the visit an assentiment

of the official character of His Excellency the President of the Republic to Rio

from January 6 a to 10 of the next March in order to participate, the

invitation of his Brazilian counterpart, in the Commemorations of the 200 Years

from the Arrival of the Portuguese Court to that city. "
