MOTION FOR RESOLUTION No. 61 /X

Considering the need to consolidate and strengthen the presence of the European Union in the

Tajikistan and, more generally, in the Central Asian region, both in the political and

economic wants commercial;

Considering the aim of encouraging economic growth and fostering the

lasting development, the fight against poverty and stability in Tajikistan and the

Central Asia, while providing a framework for the cooperation of the

European Union with Tajikistan;

Bearing in mind that the Agreement may favour a gradual approximation between the

Tajikistan and an area of wider cooperation in cooperation in Europe and the regions

limitrofes, as well as their progressive integration into the international trading system

open.

Thus:

Under the terms of the paragraph d) of Article 197 (1) of the Constitution, the Government presents to the

Assembly of the Republic the following motion for a resolution:

Approves the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement establishing a Partnership between the

European Communities and their Member States, on the one hand, and the Republic of

Tajikistan, on the other, including Annexes I to IV, the Protocol on Assistance

Mutual Administrative in Customs Matters and the Final Act, with the Declarations

signed in Luxembourg, on October 11, 2004, whose authenticated text of the version

in Portuguese language follows in annex.
