Considering that the present Agreement aims to improve and adapt some of the provisions
of the Partnership Agreement between the States of Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific and the
European Community and its Member States (Cotonou Agreement), which was
celebrated to invigorate for a period of twenty years;
Thus:
Under the terms of the paragraph d) of Article 197 (1) of the Constitution, the Government presents to the
Assembly of the Republic the following motion for a resolution:
Approve the Agreement that Changes the Partnership Agreement between the States of Africa, of the
Caribbean and the Pacific and the European Community and its Member States, signed
in Cotonou, on June 23, 2000, and respective Final Act, signed in Luxembourg,
to June 25, 2005, the text of which, in the authenticated version in the Portuguese language, if
publishes in annex.
