DRAFT RESOLUTION NO. 189 /X
NATIONAL PANTHEON HONOURS FOR AQUILINO RIBEIRO
Aquilino Ribeiro is one of the greatest figures in Portuguese literature of all the centuries.
Born September 13, 1885, in the village of Carregal, Sernancelhe's concelho,
passed away in Lisbon, on May 27, 1963, and his remains find themselves
buried in the tallion of the writers at the Cemetery of Prazeres, in Lisbon.
His biography repairs, with the vicissitudes of literary creation and intervention
civics, by their native Beira, by France, by Germany, by Lisbon, by Oeiras, by the
Galizes. His oeuvre, densely elaborated in one of the richest examples of construction
vocabular and syntactic of the prose in Portuguese language, attest to the greatness of the citizen and of the
writer in its universal projection.
Master among masters in the use of Portuguese, Aquilino Ribeiro legates us the strong conviction
of their attachment to the land, to nature, to man and to woman, to life, to the country and to the world.
The high literary value of the oeuvre of Aquilino Ribeiro justifies, fully, that the
Undersigned MPs subscribe to the following:
