The member states of the Community of Portuguese-speaking Countries (CPLP)
decorations six years of its constitution, they deemed it necessary to carry out the review of the
respective Statutes with a view to them contemplating the accession of the Democratic Republic
from Timor-Leste to the Community.
The review most aimed to define the competences of new bodies of the CPLP, namely the
Meetings of the Focal Points of Cooperation and the Sectoral Ministerial Meetings.
Thus:
Under the terms of the paragraph d) of Article 197 (1) of the Constitution, the Government presents to the
Assembly of the Republic the following motion for a resolution:
Approve, for ratification, the Revision of the Statutes of the Community of Countries of Language
Portuguese (CPLP), adopted by the Council of Ministers of the CPLP, at its VII Meeting
Ordinary held in Brasilia, on July 30, 2002, the text of which in the version
authenticated in Portuguese language, it publishes in attachment.
