Short Title
Law on banking through Norway Post

§ 1. Purpose The purpose of the law is to ensure a supply of basic banking services throughout Norway Post 'rural postal network.

§ 2. Offer of basic banking services Norway Post shall, through agreement with the financial institution providing basic banking services in their rural postal network. With basic banking means payments, deposits and agreed payments and scheduled withdrawals. The rural postal network refers to mobile handling devices, in addition to regular postal delivery, expediting statutory postal services and basic banking services within its geographic coverage area.

§ 3. Confidentiality Confidentiality by law of 24 May 1961 no. 21 on Commercial Banks § 18 applies similarly to employees and auditors of Norway Post when the company performs services for the financial institution.
Confidentiality imposed pursuant to the law on forretningsbanker1 or other laws are not an obstacle to mutual exchange of information between the financial institution and to the extent that this is necessary for the company's provision of services for the financial institution.
