In short about the law :

The law replaces current penal law from 1902 (the penal code of 1902) ; the law is set in effect from 1. October 2015 by law 19 June 2015 No. 65 about the penal code of the penal code.

The Strain Act 2005 is divided into three parts :

The first part provides the provisions of the Criminal Code of the Criminal Code, definitions, ground conditions for criminal liability and enterprise punishment. First part gives further overview of the criminal reactions : prison sentences, detention, community punishment, juvenile penalty, fine and rights loss. The first part also gives rules about the delay and the fragrant of sentencing, and about transfer to forced mental health protection and forced care. The attraction, joint rules of the reaction determining and the statute of limitations are also referred to in this part of the law.

Other part mentions the penalties : genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes, protection of Norway's independence and other fundamental national interests, acts of terror, and actions with ties to terrorism. Further, the protection of the public authority and the trust of public authority, protection of the public calm, order and security, protection of information and information exchange, incorrect explanation and charge, protection of the public health and the protection of the public and protection of the personal freedom and peace. Other part also treats the violence and sexualovations, winning ovations and similar infringement of property rights. Further, the damage is referred and the call of danger to the public, protection of the trust of money and certain documents, fraud, tax fraud and similar economic crime as well as creditor protection.

Third part contains the end regulations on the iracement of the law and changes in other laws.
