Regulation laying down rules on the application, placing and execution of road signs, except traffic lights

The Minister of Transport and Water,

Having regard to Article 14 of the Road Traffic Act 1994 and Articles 4, third paragraph, 9, 10 first and second paragraphs respectively, third paragraph (a) and (c), (11) and (48), third paragraph, of the Decision on the Administrative Provisions on Road Traffic;

Decision:

adopt the following rules on the application, placement and implementation of certain road signs, subplates and road signs listed in the RVV 1990:

Chapter I. General provisions

Paragraph 1. Definitions

  • 1 Pre-warning sign: an identical sign of Annex 1 of the RVV, 1990, placed in front of the board, with a lower sign on which a distance indication is indicated.

  • 2 Repetition board: a sign placed in remembrance of the same plate that is placed at the beginning of one and the same away box.

In case of temporary application of traffic signs and placards, in accordance with the provisions of paragraph 8 of the BABW, the requirements of the regulations may be applied in the event of urgency. Chapter II and III shall be waived. Such derogations shall be corrected as soon as possible.

  • 1 Signs shall be applied only if the device of the road is in accordance with the requirements of the individual plates.

  • 2 Signs shall not be applied if they are intended to be covered by a code of conduct or any other traffic. Signs will also be omitted if the desired behaviour is due to the road layout.

  • 3 Traffic signs indicating a hazard are applied only if the danger to road users is insufficient or is not observable in a timely way.

Section 2. General provisions regarding the placement of road signs

  • 6 The veracity of road signs must be insured day and night.

    • A. within the builtup bowl: 2,20 m;

  • 12a The height of the underside of plate D2 or D3 in relation to the road shall be not less than 0,90 metres if the sign is placed on a yellow column of traffic.

  • 13 In the case of placards above the carriageway, the free pass height shall be at least 4,50 m and above bicycle and foot paths at least 2,50 m.

    In the case of tunnels, viaducts and the like may be deviated from.

  • 14 A sign at least is outside the profile of free space of the carriageway. The distance between the edge of the board and the side of the carriageway is preferably at least 0,60 m and not more than 3,60 m in the direction of the perseverance. On roads outside the bowl, without parking or flight, the minimum distance of the bowl is 1,80 m.


Paragraph 3. General provisions relating to the implementation of road signs

  • 15 Boards are shown in:

    • -fixed execution, with the same traffic sign being consistently displayed, or

    • -appearance, where one or more traffic signs can be displayed.

    Fixed-execution signs, with the exception of sign L3, comply with paragraphs 5 and 6 of EN 3381 (Traffic signs-General requirements for boards);

    Signs in appearances, except for boards A3 and F9 and signs in transparent execution, comply with the standard EN EN 12966 (Vertical traffic signs-Variable traffic signs)

    In case a sign is displayed on an electronic signaling board, the symbol can be performed in white on a black field instead of in black on a white field.

  • 16 Boards with the exception of the signs G13, G14, K1 to K13, L3 to L7 and L10 to L12 shall be conducted at least according to the dimensions specified in paragraph 4 of the EN 3381 standard, with the following routes: Types apply:

    • -on roads with a maximum speed of 120 km/h or less: Type III,

    • -on roads where a maximum speed is 80 km/h or less: type II,

    • -on roads with a maximum speed of 50 km/h or less: Type I, and

    • -sign B1 as a repetition plate, and the plates D2 and D3 if combined with the yellow tube: type 0.

    The minimum size may be waived if the sign is placed in a parking area, place of care or other traffic space intended for limited use.

  • 17 Boards are executed with the surface area of the image in retro-reflective material. The properties of the retro-reflective material shall be at least equivalent to Class I of the EN 3381 standard, except that the signs B7 and D2 are performed according to Class II minimum.

    Not required to be retro-reflective:

    • -plates of Chapter E, within the built-up area;

    • -sign L3;

    • -plates G7 to G10 and G13 and G14;

    • -signs in transparent implementation, and

    • -electronic signalling signs.

  • 18 By way of derogation from the provisions of this Regulation, the Third paragraph, first sentence, of Article 4 of the BABW consist of a rectangular board, on which the letters, numbers or symbols are placed in a field of colour other than blue.


Paragraph 4. Requirements for individual boards

Board A1 (maximum speed)

Application

  • 1 The maximum speed to be set shall be in accordance with the road image. This means that, where necessary, the circumstances have been adjusted in such a way that the intended speed reasonably results from the nature and the establishment of the road in question and of its surroundings.

  • 2 No other than the following maximum speeds shall be fixed:

    • a. within the builtup:

      • -

        On road compartments: 70, 30, 15 km/h

      • -

        At hazard points: 30, 20 km/h;

    • b. Outside of builtup:

      • on motorways:

        • -

          On road compartments: 80 km/h

        • -

          At hazard points: 70 km/h;

      • on motorways:

        • -

          in the case of the road compartments: 130, 120, 110, 100, 90, 80, 70, 60, 50 km/h;

      • on other roads outside the builtup bowl:

        • -

          On road compartments: 60, 30 km/h

        • -

          At traffic lights: 70 km/h

        • -

          At hazard points: 60, 50 km/h.

  • 3 Within the builtup bowl, plate A1 may be placed by way of derogation from the Chapter II , paragraph 1 under point 2, to remind you, if necessary, of the general speed limit of 50 km/h.

  • 4 15 km/h and 15 km/h zone, 30 km/h and 30 km/h zone, 60 km/h and 60 km/h zone

    Plate A1 (15 km/h and 15 km/h zone) may be placed on residential property to explicitly indicate that only stapvoets, 15 km/h, can be driven on residential property, as determined by the Article 45 of the RVV 1990 .

    Plate A1 (30 km/h inside and outside the builtup bowl and 60 km/h outside the builtup bowl) may only be applied to the road compartments if the following requirements are met:

    • -

      each road in the area concerned mainly has a residence function;

    • -

      to prevent the residence function from being affected by a relatively high intensity of the motorised traffic, the road with its environment is adapted as appropriate;

    • -

      with a view to speed limitation and attention increase, additional attention has been paid to potentially dangerous points, such as:

      • (a) the transfer of pedestrians, in particular school children and the elderly;

      • b. Cross-points with a main route for cyclists and possibly moped cyclists;

      • c. Cross-points where priority is regulated by means of placards;

        • -

          The transitions to a different maximum speed shall be clearly identifiable by the construction;

        • -

          If the transition to a higher speed limit is within 20 metres of a crossing road, priority shall be arranged by means of traffic signs or in and out construction, unless the crucible road is suitable for use in the area concerned. to be included.

Placing

  • 1 Plate A1 is placed with board H1.

Categories of oral ceilings

Board A2 End maximum speed

Application

The board is not applied to the access to a residential property.

Board A3 (maximum speed on an electronic signal board)

Application

No more than the following maximum speeds shall be set in road compartments on motorways: 130, 120, 110, 100, 90, 80, 70, 60, 50 km/h.

Placing

  • 1 This board shall be placed above the lane above each lane in the event of placing above the carriageway. The board can also be placed on the right of the road. In this case, the signboard must be placed on the left side of a lane width greater than 5 m.

Board A4 (AdviessSpeed)

Application

Board A5 (end of adviper speed)

Application

  • 1 This sign is not applied:

    • a. If other traffic signs or a behaviour rule already results in the end of the adviper rate;

    • b. To end an adviper speed at a hazard point.

Board B1 (forward access road)

Application

  • 1 The sign is not applied to 30 km/h roads in 30 km/h areas, 60 km/h roads and 60 km/h zones.

Placing

  • 1 Within the builtup bowl this board is placed directly in front of side roads of the forward entrance road.

  • 2 Outside the builtup bowl this board is placed at some distance after side roads of the forward entrance road. On motorways, this sign is not placed after the time of rotation. On motorways, this plate is not placed after fluent touts.

Subplates

  • 1 The gradient of the forward access road can be displayed on a subplate.

Plates B3, B4 and B5 (main point of reference)

Application

  • 1 The sign is applied only if the priority is controlled by means of placard B6, B7 and/or against the shark teeth.

Placing

  • 1 The sign may be omitted if it can be confused with respect to the priority settlement on a further, very short distance, intersection or division of roads. In this case, on the side road, both plate B6 and shark teeth, or plate B7 and a stop line are applied.

Board B6 (giving priority to drivers on the crossing road)

Application

  • 1 The sign is not applied inside the yard.

  • 2

    30 km/h and 30 km/h zones

    The board shall be applied within 30 km/h and 30 km/h zones only at roundabouts and in the case of cross-section with:

    • -

      an open bus lane;

    • -

      a free cycle path;

    • -

      a non-lying bicycle/moped bicycle;

    • -

      a main cycle route, which is clearly identifiable as such and which prevents only a subordinate quantity of motorised traffic.

Placing

  • 1 In the case of a carriageway width greater than 5 m, the sign outside the builtup bowl is also placed on the left side of the carriageway.

  • 2 In the case of two or more lanes in the same direction within the built bowl, the board is also placed on the left side of the carriageway.

  • 3 This sign is also placed outside of the builtup bowl on a middle conductor.

  • 4 If a bike path, or bike/moped path is part of the crossing road, the board is placed in combination with a clear marking of that path.

Pre-warning signs

  • 1 On roads outside the builtup bowl, a pre-warning is placed, if necessary supplemented by a warning triangle on the road surface.

Subplates

  • 1 If the sign refers to a two-way bike path or a two-way bike/moped path, a lower-plate with a bicycle symbol and possibly a moped symbol and two horizontally-mounted horizontal lines shall be used. arrows applied.

Signboard B7 (stop; take precedence to drivers on the crossing road)

Application

  • 1 This board is applied only to crossings and divisions of roads, where most drivers stop out of their own motion for driving.

Placing

Pre-designation

Board C1 (closed in both directions for vehicles, horsemen and conductors of a row or a migratory species or livestock)

Application

  • 1 The board is not applied in the case of the T-cross points, where application of board C4, or D4 or D5 is possible.

Board C2 (one-way road, in this direction closed to vehicles, riders and conductors of a row or towing animal or livestock)

Application

  • 1 The board is not applied in the case of the T-cross points, where application of board C4, or D4 or D5 is possible.

  • 2 The sign is placed to prevent the haunting of motorways and double-lane motorways, on both sides of the carriageway, for the prevention of spout. Bord C4 (one-way road)

Placing

Board C5 (indrive permitted)

Placing

  • 1 To avoid confusion with sewing lanes, the board may be placed on the left side of the road.

Board C19 (closed for vehicles which are higher than indicated on the board, including the load)

Application

  • 1 The number on the board is not greater than 3.9 m.

  • 2 The number on the board has one decimal and is always 0.10 m to 0.20 m lower than the measured pass-on height.

Placing

  • 1 This sign is in principle above the carriageway.

Board C22 (closed for vehicles with certain dangerous substances)

Application and placement

Pre-designation

Plate C23-01 SpitsStrip open

Application

Board C23-02 Clear Spitslane

Application

This board shall be used only to indicate that an open shreds should be cleared.

Board D1 Rotonde; mandatory driving direction

Application and placement

  • 1 This sign is placed on the middle island opposite the dedicated roads. The board can also be placed on the road-related roads.

  • 2 This board is applied only in combination with the placement of board B6 and shark teeth when connecting the main lane to the main lane of the roundabout. The design of the road-related roads is, if necessary, adapted to the priority payment scheme.

    The above shall be carried out in such a way as to ensure that drivers must give priority to drivers on the road to the main lane of the roundabout.

Pre-designation Boards

  • 1 This board is not used as a front warning sign. Only sign J9 can be used as a predesignation.

Board E1 (parking ban) and board E2 (ban standing still)

Placing

  • 1 The end and the beginning of a parking or stop ban shall be indicated by means of a lower-plate with an arrow in the direction of the road subject to which the ban applies. This subplate shall be applied parallel to the wegas. When the end or beginning of a ban coincates with a side road, the lower plate may be omitted.

    The end of these prohibitions shall not be indicated if this is carried out from another traffic point or from a code of conduct or from the point of view of the road.

  • 2 On two-way traffic lanes, these signs shall be placed in such a way that the prohibitions for traffic in both directions are observable. To this end, plates may be placed parallel to the wegas, provided that a lower sign atthe beginning or end of the parking ban is provided.

Board E5 (taxi rank; also parking ban for other vehicles)

Placing

  • 1 This board may be placed parallel to the road.

Board E6 (disability parking)

Placing

  • 1 This board may be placed parallel to the road.

Subplates

  • 1 If the parking space is reserved for a motor vehicle, a lower-plate shall be fitted with the registration plate of that motor vehicle.

  • 2 If the parking space is reserved for a disabled vehicle, a lower-board 'disabled vehicle' is applied.

Plate E7 (opportunity for immediate loading and unloading of goods; parking ban for other vehicles)

Placing

  • 1 The board may be placed parallel to the road.

Plate E8 (parking only for the vehicle category indicated on the board; also parking ban for other vehicle categories)

Implementation

  • 1 Images for the designation of the vehicle categories correspond to the images in side view on the boards of Annex 1 of the RVV 1990.

Placing

  • 1 The board may be placed parallel to the road.

Bord E9 (parking space only for the holders of the licence)

Placing

  • 1 This board may be placed parallel to the road.

Plate E10 (Parking Disk Zone)

Placing

  • 1 This board may be placed parallel to the road.

  • 2 In a zone, marked with plate E10, parking spaces where the use of the parking disc is not mandatory, marked or indicated with a P-tile or P-board.

Board E12 (Parking for Public Transport-Travelers at a Partimes and Travel Stop)

Application

  • 1 The individual parking, intended for public transport passengers, shall comply with the following requirements:

      adequate (minimum 40) parking spaces;

    • -

      have been provided with hardening, parking layout, and public lighting.

  • 2 A parking space on this parking may not be further than at about 250 feet walking distance from the Partimes and Reis stop.

  • 3 This board may be applied only if the public transport in question has at least a frequency of six times an hour for local transport and twice an hour for so many hours during rush hours. Interlocal transport.

      the length of the road covered by the motorway is not less than 2,5 km,

      the continuous carriageway has been designated as a priority road,

    • -

      the road has no exit,

    • -

      overpaths are only permitted exceptionally and the use is limited to agricultural traffic,

    • -

      the width of the road hardening shall be at least 7,00 m,

    • -

      In the case of cross-points, the left-hand storage set up boxes are present.

Board G5 (erf)

Application

  • 1 The erf must primarily have a residence function. Board L13 Traffic Tunnel

  • 1. The board is placed for each tunnel, longer than 250 meters.

The plate shall be positioned every 25 metres at a height of not more than 1,5 metres above the ground on the tunnel walls to indicate where the two closest exits are located.

  • 1 Characters on the ground shall be white unless otherwise specified for a separate character. In case of temporary application, the colour is, in any case, a colour different from white.

  • 2 The minimum width of stripes is 0.10 m. The minimum width of the stop line intended in Art. 78 of the RVV 1990 , is 0.20 m.

  • 3 By way of derogation from the second part, first sentence, the minimum margin of the margin shall be 0,05 m if:

    • a. it is affixed to the right and left side of the flight strip, respectively, if the flight path is located on the right or left side of the road; and

    The width of the stop line to be applied to the plate B7 shall be at least 0,30 m.

  • 7 Hrotting countries, as referred to in Article 80 of the RVV 1990

    Application (of self-employed shark teeth)

    The application of shark teeth with meaning, as referred to in Article 80 of the RVV 1990 (without any sign B6 and, where appropriate, without a sign B3, B4, B5 on a cross-road) shall be limited to:

    • -

      bike paths and parallel roads where the presence of one of these signs could give rise to confusion for other drivers;

    • -

      the lateral path subordinate to the crossing road at a T-junction, but only if the informal priority behaviour corresponds to the priority treatment.

    Placement (of all shark teeth)

    Shark teeth shall be located at the place where drivers are to stop at the granting of priority or at the discretion of the road operator.

  • 8 The block marking, as referred to in art. 11.4 of the RVV 1990

    Implementation

    The block marking provided for in Article 11.4 of the RVV 1990 shall be at least 20 m in length. The blocks consist of white rectangular markings.

  • 9 The Pedestrian Crossing Point (zebra), as referred to in art. 49.2 of the RVV 1990

    Application

    A zebra is applied only:

    • -

      on roads within the builtup area with a maximum speed of 30 km/h or 50 km/h, and

    • -

      on roads outside builtup areas with a maximum speed of 30 km/h, provided that the approach speed of not less than 85% of the motor vehicles is less than 50 km/h.

    Implementation

  • 1 A zebra shall consist of a cross-wide flag with a width of at least 4 m, consisting of white stripes with a width and an intermediate distance of 0,4 m to 0,6 m.

  • 2 With a zebra, except at traffic lights, sign L2 is always placed.

    Transitional provision

    The traffic signs and subplates placed before the date of entry into force of this Arrangement shall be deemed to be placed in accordance with the provisions of this Arrangement.

  • 2

    Repeal

    The arrangement of the Minister for Transport and Water State of 28 June 1991, No RV 93679A, laying down rules on the application, placement and execution of traffic signs, except traffic lights (Stcrt. 134), is hereby repealed.

  • 3

    Entry of

    This arrangement shall enter into force from the second day following the day of the day of the Official Journal in which it is placed.

This arrangement will be set out in the Official Journal.
