Decision of 2 December 2008 setting up the 'Jos Brink homo emancipate prize' (Decision of Jos Brink homo emancipate)

On the nomination of Our Minister of Education, Culture and Science of 26 November 2008, Executive Board of Law and Legal Affairs, No. WJZ/82760

Done in accordance with the views of the Council of Ministers;

Have found good and understand:


Article 1

There is a government prize in the field of gay emancipation, called the Jos Brink homo emancipation prize.


Article 2

  • 1 The Jos Brink gay emancipation prize can be granted once every two years to a person, a group or an institution on the basis of delivering or having delivered a fundamental contribution to improving the position of homosexuals in Society.

  • 2 The price consists of a cash amount of € 10,000 and an art object.


Article 3

  • 1 The award of the Gay Emancipation Prize of Jos Brink is made by Our Minister of Education, Culture and Science, after he has obtained the opinion of an independent jury appointed by him.

  • 2 He may lay down detailed rules in this regard.


Article 4

This Decision shall enter into force on the second day following the day of the Official Journal of the Official Journal.


Article 5

This decision is cited as: Decision institution Jos Brink homo emancipate price.

Our Minister of Education, Culture and Science is responsible for the implementation of this Decision which will be placed with the letter of explanatory note in the Official Journal, and copies of which will be sent to the Chambers of the Official Journal of the European Union. State-General, to the Court of Auditors and to the executioner-testamentary by the late Jos Brink.
