We have taken into consideration that the No 5 of the Law of 30 April 1815 ( State Sheet No. 33 *) set Military Willems Order has proved to be particularly suitable, so to the culpability of the warrior virtues as an honking reward of those who, in the struggle through outstanding acts of courage, policies and faithfulness, have made a special contribution to the duties of them; whereas, however, it has become necessary to revise the existing law, while maintaining its principles;

  • 1 There is an Order, seeking to reward the military, in the service of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, who have distinguished themselves in the struggle by the companies of outstanding acts of courage, policy and fidelity.

  • 2 In special cases, non-military Dutch nationals and foreign nationals who have distinguished themselves by such acts may also be included in the Order.

  • 1 The character of the body consists of a white enamelled cross, covered by a royal crown; the four framed arms of the cross are of equal length, lobe of the centre wide, are covered at the end and fitted with pained points. The arms are attached to front and back in golden letters the words:

  • 1 The knights of the 4th class below the rank of officer shall enjoy an allowance, according to the rank or stand, held at the moment, that they have made themselves worthy of the award, by reason of the following amounts per year:

  • 1 This Law shall be binding on the whole of the Kingdom.
