Law of 15 November 2000, extending the scope of the Management Water Works Law to the exclusive economic zone

All of them, who will see or hear these, saluut! do know:

In this regard, we have taken into consideration the fact that it is for the good management of the maritime area of the Netherlands exclusive economic zone, having regard also to the United Nations Convention on the Law of 10 December 1982 in Montego-Bay. from the sea, with attachments (Trb. 1983, 83) is necessary, the licence system of the Law management state waterworks apply in that zone;

In this way, we, the Council of State, and with the mean consultations of the States-General, have been well-regarded and understood to be right and to be understood by the following:

  • 1 Article 2 of the Law on State-owned water works shall not apply in respect of works made before the date of entry into force of this Act in or on the part of the continental shelf which is due to the Netherlands, until the date of application of the second paragraph of that Article for the the work in question is in force.

  • 2 Our Minister of Transport and Water State shall, within two years of the date of entry into force of this Law, grant of its own motion a licence as referred to in Article 2 of the Law on State Water Works for the holding of a work as referred to in paragraph 1.

  • 1 The Compulsory authorisation of installations at sea is hereby repealed.

  • If special written instructions are given to the user on the establishment of an installation on the basis of Article 2 of the Decision of 19 July 1974, establishing a system referred to in Article 7 of the the Wet Installes North Sea, the rules adopted by or pursuant to that decision to the user of an installation shall be treated as applicable as from the date of entry into force of this Act with the provisions of a Article 2 of the Law on State Water Works authorisation granted.

This Act shall enter into force from the day following the date of issuance of the Official Gazette in which it is placed.

Burdens and orders that it will be placed in the Official Gazette, and that all ministries, authorities, colleges and officials who so concern will keep their hands on the precise execution.
