All of them, who will see or hear these, saluut! do know:

Having considered that there is reason to take measures to implement the Convention on Decisions to improve the instruments of civil status, including Annexes, and Article 29 of Book 1 of the Civil Code to adapt the arrangements provided for in this Agreement;

In this way, we, the Council of State, and with the mean consultations of the States-General, have been well-regarded and understood to be right and to be understood by the following:


Article 1

For the purposes of this Law, the term 'the Agreement' shall mean the Agreement on Decisions to improve the instruments of civil status, signed in Paris on 10 September 1964, with Annexes ( Trb. 1965, 89).


Article 2

The authority responsible for the transmission or reception of documents or notices referred to in Article 5 of the Agreement shall be our Minister of Justice.


Article 3

As a Dutch judicial authority referred to in Article 4 (1) of the Convention, the court shall, within whose jurisdiction the decision to improve it relates, be designated by the court, within the jurisdiction of the courts, It is included.


Article 4

If, by order of the court or order of the public prosecutor ' s office, improvement has been ordered of errors in the civil status documents in accordance with Article 2 of the Agreement, the civil servant shall, after he has been informed of the have affixed an improvement to him, a copy of the order or order and a copy of the deed to our Minister for Justice, as amended by him.


Article 5

Our Minister of Justice shall, subject to the provisions of the Article 8 -the copy of the decision taken in another of the Contracting States on the basis of Article 2 of the Convention on the improvement of an instrument of civil status and of the copy of the amended instrument, as necessary, with the result that he has provided translations to the official of the civil status of which the register is based, to which the improvement must be made.


Article 6

A civil servant of the civil status shall add to the instrument to which the decision relates shall be added to the decision taken in accordance with Article 2 of the Agreement, in a further indication.


Article 7

A registered act and a subsequent entry of an instrument shall be improved pursuant to Article 3 of the Convention by the civil servant of the civil status, to whom a copy of the decision to improve and a copy of the improved he shall record in the register that he is based on a statement that he shall be given later. If he considers that the improvement is outside the scope of the Agreement or is itself erroneous, he shall send the documents to our Minister of Justice.


Article 8

If our Minister considers that the implementation of the improvement must be refused pursuant to Article 4 of the Convention, he shall be the subject of documents forwarded to him by the public prosecutor.


Article 9

  • (1) At the request of the prosecutor's office for refusing enforcement, the court shall decide on a reasoned order.

  • 2 The Registrar of the College for which the case was last seised sends a copy of the order to our Minister of Justice as soon as it has entered into force of res judiced.


Article 10

Article 11

This Law shall enter into force from the day on which the Convention for the Netherlands enters into force.

Burdens and orders, which are in the State Sheet will be placed, and that all Ministerial Departments, Authorities, Colleges and Officials, who so concern, will keep their hands on the precise execution.
