BE IT enacted by the Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong with the advice and consent of the Dewan Negara and Dewan Rakyat in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: short title 1. This Act may be cited as the Act (incorporation) Good Shepherd Nuns 1973.
Incorporation of Sister Superior of the Good Shepherd Nuns in Malaysia 2. (1) Sister Joan Gormley, the Sister Superior of the Good Shepherd Nuns in Malaysia and successors in his later, shall be a body corporate by the name "the Sister Superior of the Good Shepherd Nuns, Malaysia", in this Act referred to as "the Corporation".
(2) the Corporation may enter into contracts and can acquire, purchase, take, hold and enjoy any kind of movable and immovable property and may be memindahhakkan, transferring ownership, assign, surrender and return, gave his promise, mendemis, charge, assign or otherwise dispose of or make any business of any movable or immovable property vested in the Corporation.
(3) the Corporation may sue and be sued in respect of his property and the others in all courts of Justice and in all matters and legal.
6 laws of Malaysia ACT 108 seal of the Corporation 3. (1) the Corporation shall have a common seal and the seal may from time to time be broken, changed, altered and made new as the Corporation may think fit.
(2) no deed, document or instrument other sealed with the seal of the Corporation shall be deemed to have been properly sealed unless — (a) the said seal has been affixed in front of Sister Superior for the time being in Office, or his attorney authorized properly by a power of Attorney registered under power of Attorney Act 1949 [Act 424]; and (b) a deed, document or other instrument has been signed by the Sister of the Superior for the time being in Office or its attorney duly authorised such as mentioned earlier.
(3) such Signing shall be and be deemed to be sufficient evidence of the signing was supposed to be a deed, document or other instrument.
Notification of the appointment of Sister Superior 4. A notification in the Gazette of any appointment of persons to hold or Act Office Sister Superior of the Good Shepherd Nuns in Malaysia shall be conclusive evidence that the person has been authorized and properly appointed.
Property vesting provisions 5. All movable and immovable property located in Malaysia previously held for and by, dipindahhakkan, diserahhakkan, assigned, leased, transferred ownership, transferred to or otherwise vested in the Sister Superior of the Good Shepherd Nuns in Malaysia is hereby vested in the Corporation for the purposes of this Act and subject to the rules of the Corporation at the time.
(Corporation) Good Shepherd Nuns 7 exclusion of rights 6. Nothing in this Act shall affect the right of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, the King or Yang di-Pertua Negeri or that of any political organization or corporation or the rights of any person except as referred to in this Act and persons claiming through, from or under them.
