General questions 1. national cultural monument protection Inspectorate (hereinafter referred to as "the inspection") is under the supervision of the Ministry of culture civiliestād the country.

II. Inspection tasks 4. main tasks of the Inspectorate: 4.1 to realize the State control for protection of cultural monuments;
4.2. prepare proposals on perfecting the legislation of protection of cultural monuments;
4.3. carry out cultural monuments public records, to identify and study the cultural heritage, prepare a list of cultural monuments and the project accounting documentation, organize cultural monument research;
4.4. to examine the documentation provided for the coordination of work related to cultural monuments;
4.5. instructions given cultural monument owners (proprietors) on the use of cultural monuments and conservation;
4.6. to issue a permit for a specific sample preservation (research, restoration, repair, reconstruction) for carrying out the work of cultural monuments;
4.7. to determine the value of cultural heritage monuments;
4.8. in cooperation with the Ministry of the Interior to take the art expertise and to issue permits for the export of objects of art to foreign countries;
4.9. the following specific purposes allocated funds to finance cultural monument for research, rescue and restoration work, as well as with the monument protection measures;
4.10. to organize the cultural monuments in the promotion work.
///. 5. rights of inspection Inspection rights set out in the law "On the protection of cultural monuments".
6. Inspection is entitled from the Government and local authorities for free get your task information. In turn, the Office must be provided free of charge in your information held by said institutions at their request.
7. inspections shall cooperate with the natural and legal persons in the cultural monuments protection issues involving cultural heritage protection experts in this area, as well as establishing the advisory body, the Council of experts.
8. The inspection shall cooperate with other professionals and institutions for the control of the protection of cultural monuments, taking over their experience and proposes the Government to conclude the necessary intergovernmental agreements.
IV. Inspection officials 9. Inspection officials have the inspection Manager, his Deputy and the heads of unit. Inspection officers are civil servants (officials of the candidates).
10. the head of the inspection shall be appointed and relieved of the post of Minister of culture pursuant to the law "on State civil service" (Latvian journal, 1994, 52 no; 1995, no. 82; 1996, 49, no. 64).
11. inspection leader: 11.1. is responsible for the execution of the tasks of the Inspection;
11.2. approve the inspection structure and establishment plan;
11.3. The Inspection Department shall approve regulations;
11.4. in accordance with the law "on State civil service" shall be appointed and removed from Office for civil servants (officials of the candidates), as well as in accordance with the labour code of Latvia for recruiting and released from labour inspection staff;
11.5. in matters within their competence, shall issue orders, instructions and other regulations;
11.6. Approves the cultural monuments protection zone and their maintenance;
7.3. The Cabinet of Ministers in the order determined by the environment-damaging objects, located in the cultural monuments protection zones;
8. Decides to work, report, internal control issues and procedures in accordance with the laws and other legal acts;
11.9. represents inspection in relation to legal and natural persons and conclude contracts in the name of Inspection;
11.10. in matters within their competence, in the name of Inspection decisions on claims and the requirements for lifting the designation against natural and legal persons;
11.11. the powers of the inspectorate staff issued this statement in the above tasks;
11.12. organise inspection training and further training.
