General questions 1. National Forest Service (hereinafter service) is an independent forestry public administration civiliestād, located under the supervision of the Ministry of agriculture.

II. Service mission 4. Service within their competence, shall undertake the following tasks: 4.1 control all the management and use of forests;
4.2. ensure national forest administration and management;
4.3. ensure the implementation of the laws and control their execution;
4.4. preparing proposals for Service tasks that need the State budget funding and administering it;
4.5. is administered by the forest cutting estimate within the koptām and other forest resource usage;
4.6. manages the State forest fund land and carry out legal transactions with the State forest. National forest fund land disposal in accordance with the order of the Cabinet of Ministers, if the law does not provide otherwise;
4.7. perform legal transactions with the possession of movable and immovable property;
4.8. in accordance with the approved estimates and limits enforce the national forest resources;
4.9. organised by the national mežierīcīb, take the forest fund inventory and maintain forest cadastre;
4.10. in forest protection and conservation;
4.11. organizes the conservation of forest genetic resources, as well as provide concerning reforestation and care;

4.14. ensure the protection of the environment;

III. Service structure 5. Service is the central apparatus and territorial departments: 5.1 country virsmežniecīb;
