Cabinet of Ministers Regulations No. 406 1997 in Riga on 9 December (69.1. ¤) ozone layer protection regulations Issued under the law "on environmental protection" 26. the third paragraph of article i. General questions 1. Rules are applied in the following terms: 1. ozone depleting substances-substance or certain mixtures of substances, including isomers (if their concentration is greater than one percent of the total composition of the mixture) that Deplete the ozone layer (annex 1);

2. this regulation lays down the measures to be taken to stop the activities of ozone depleting substances, as well as the order in which the company (the company) operates with the ozone layer depleting substances before the stop.
II. General measures action on ozone depleting substances to stop 3. Prohibited to manufacture and import (import) the rules referred to in annex 1 Group 3 substances.
4. By 1 January 2000 are prohibited to manufacture and import (import) the rules referred to in annex 1, 2, 4, 5 and 7 of the group.
5. III. Ozone-depleting substance production and import (import) quotas 8. 13. IV. Actions on ozone depleting substances 14. Enterprises (companies) banned the launch of substances that Deplete the ozone layer.
15. Companies (company) authorised to import (import) the ozone-depleting substances only from countries that are party to the Vienna Convention for the protection of the ozone layer and the Montreal Protocol on ozone depleting substances. 18. If this provision 17. establishments referred to in paragraph (company) can't stop substances that Deplete the ozone layer and move to the ozone layer without the use of harmful substances, they provide the relevant regional environmental authority, which shall inform the environmental protection and regional development Ministry. In such cases, environmental protection and regional development, the Ministry adopted a special decision on ozone-depleting substances for use in the enterprise (company).
19. Enterprises (companies) allowed unrestricted use of the revised ozone-depleting substances process where the regional environmental protection administration approved the company's (the company) the documents submitted for the origin of these substances.
20. Ozone-depleting substances and products containing them to producers, importers and exporters (importers) (exporter): 20.1. documents accompanying the product indicates the substance name or symbol, the quantity of ozone depleting potential, possible damage to the ozone layer, as well as recommendations for the substance leak prevention;

Vi. 24.2. organise negotiations with the United Nations Environment Programme of the Vienna Convention on the protection of the ozone layer and its Montreal Protocol on ozone depleting substances, the Secretariat on the continuation of the process in the territory of Latvia, if there is no alternative for the transition to the ozone layer without harmful substances.
VII. Responsibility for the failure of 25. If you do not comply with the requirements laid down in these rules, a company (the company) operating with the ozone depleting substances regulations may be suspended.
