The Republic of Latvia Cabinet of Ministers of 28 December 1999, Regulation No 420 in Riga (pr. No 72, 15. §) rules on Šlīter of the national parks of the Republic of Latvia issued the constitutional order of article 81 article 1.  The Šlīter national park (national park) is a national specially protected natural territory. National park created to preserve the natural and cultural values, as well as promote sustainable economic development of the territory.
2. article. The national park's total area is ha ha of land and 10130 16360 sea proper, it limits determined in accordance with the national park of the Šlīter scheme (annex 1) and the Šlīter national park boundary description (annex 2).
3. article. In order to ensure the protection of natural ecosystems and the sustainable use of natural resources, as well as the development of local authorities, national park the following functional zones (1 and 2): 1) nature reserve area;
2) barring of nature area;
3) landscape protection area;
4) neutral zone.
4. article. The national park is managed by the environmental protection and regional development, the Ministry of public Šlīter of civiliestād — a national park administration, acting in accordance with the regulations approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
5. article. Šlīter the national park administration's financial resources shall consist of: 1) grant from the General State budget revenues;
2 natural and legal persons) donations;
3) revenue from paid services (forest management, hotel services, tour management).
6. article. To reconcile the interests of nature conservation and economic activities, is created in the Šlīter national park Advisory Council, acting in accordance with the regulations approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
Rules shall enter into force on 1 January 2000.
