The Republic of Latvia Cabinet of Ministers Regulations No. 385 in Riga 2000 November 7 (pr. No 53, § 14) potato and seed potato solely trade rules Issued under the seeds and planting materials in the law of article 2, paragraph 1, subparagraph (I). a general question 1. these provisions shall be determined solely in the potatoes and seeds (hereinafter referred to as the seeds).
II. categories of seed 2. Seed shall be divided into the following categories: 2.1. random seed (IR);
2.2. pre-basic seed (PB);
2.3. basic seed (B);
2.4. certified seed (C).
3. Random seed (IR)-potato plants (tubes) or tuber-ensure maintenance of characteristics for the variety to several generations, and it is small. These seeds are obtained and their propagation scheme is determined by the breeder or his successor in title. 5. Basic seed (B) are the seeds which: 5.1 raised pursuant to the generally accepted practices for the maintenance of the variety;
5.2. for certified seed (C);
5.3. meet basic seed in these provisions (B);
5.4. throughout the seed production and preparation period is the national plant protection service control.
6. Basic seed (B) divided into three generations: the first generation of 6.1 basic seed (B1) produced from pre-basic seed (PB) or directly from a random seed (IR);
6.2. second generation basic seed (B2) is derived from the first generation of basic seed (B1) or directly from pre-basic seed (PB);
6.3. the third generation basic seed (B3) is obtained from the seed of the second generation of the base (B2) or directly from the first generation of basic seed (B1), or the description "pre-basic seed (PB).
7. Certified seed (C) are seeds which: 7.1 these provisions meet the certified seed (C);
7.2. for the production of seed or other purposes.
8. Certified seed (C) divided into two generations: 8.1 certified seed of the first generation (C1);
8.2. certified seed, second generation (C2).
9. Certified seed of the first generation (C1) is the seed that: 9.1. grown directly from the third generation basic seed (B3) or the second or the first generation basic seed (B2, B1), or directly from pre-basic seed (PB);
9.2. for certified seed, second generation (C2) production or for other purposes;
9.3. these provisions meet the certified seed (C);
9.4. throughout the seed production and preparation period is the national plant protection service control.
10. certified seed, second generation (C2) is the seed that: 10.1 grown directly from certified seed of the first generation (C1) or from basic seed (B), or directly from pre-basic seed (PB);
10.2. is not intended solely for the future;
10.3. complies with those rules for certified seed (C);
10.4. throughout the preparatory period and solely is the State plant protection service control.

22. 31.2. potato ring rot in the dark of Pseudomonas solanacearum (Smith) Smith;
31.3. potato cancer Synchytrium endobioticum (Schillbersky) Percival;
19.5. the potato gold nematode Globodera rostochiensis (Wollenweber) Mulu. et stone;
31.5. pale potato nematode Globodera pallida (stone) Mulu. et stone.

X. Sēklaudzētāj, seed producer, packer and the Merchant Registration 46. XI. Certificate for quality assessment of seed shall be issued, if appropriate for a category of seed not satisfying the requirements of even one of the seed lot full appraisal of the indicators, as well as when assessing only individual indicators (evaluation of the seed is not full). 56. This rule 44 is valid until 1 June 2005.
57. The provisions of section 2.4 of annex 3 is valid until 1 June 2005.
58. These regulations subparagraph 2.5. of annex 3 shall enter into force on the 1 June 2005.
