Cabinet of Ministers Regulations No. 258 in Riga on 25 June 2002 (pr. Nr. 26, 9. §) dangerous equipment in the crash investigation order issued in accordance with the national labour inspectorate Act 3 of the second paragraph of article 8, paragraph 1. determines the order in which investigates accidents, hazardous equipment if this equipment is subject to the law "on technical supervision of dangerous equipment".

4. Accidents investigated by the State labour inspection officer by the specialists, experts and the possessor of dangerous equipment authorised representative.
5. If the accident is caused the accident that injured or dead people, fire, explosion, leakage of hazardous substances or significant environmental pollution accidents investigated by the Director of the national labour inspection established by the Commission. It shall consist of at least three people. The crash investigation involving regional environmental management and control authorities of other professionals.
6. If the accident classified as industrial accidents, to investigate in accordance with the legislation on industrial accidents procedures for risk assessment and risk reduction measures for the following specific procedures for the investigation of accidents.
7. emergency and their records are recorded by the State Labour Inspectorate. Crash investigation materials stored and transferred to the archives law.
8. If an accident, dangerous equipment ancillary staff are obliged to act in accordance with the instructions for use of the equipment, if necessary, call the appropriate emergency services (such as fire and rescue services, emergency medical assistance, gas emergency service), as well as the crash to report immediately to their supervisor to direct and dangerous equipment holder.

10.2. regional environmental administration and local authority, if there is a risk for the environment;
10.3. fire and rescue service, if the crash is associated with fire or the need to perform rescue operations;
10.4. If classified as industrial accident, crash, fire and Rescue Department, the municipality concerned, regional environmental administration and other regulations for industrial accident risk assessment and risk reduction measures laid down by the authorities.
11. dangerous equipment by means of this provision in paragraph 9 the report indicates the company (company), institution or organization in which the accident has taken place, the date and the time of the accident, details of dangerous equipment, the location of the event holder, dangerous way to machine works and emergency conditions, as well as the number of victims (if any).
12. If there has been an accident, dangerous equipment holder until the arrival of the services concerned and the time the crash investigation has the responsibility to: 12.1. implement measures to monitor, control or eliminate the emergency or reduce its effects;
12.2. the situation which occurred after the crash, lock in every possible way (the crash site plan, scheme, witness statements, photographs, videos);
12.3. to save damaged parts of the machine.
13. the national labour inspection officer or the Commission investigates accidents within ten working days. If necessary, with the national labour inspectorate authorisation by the Director of the investigation may be extended to three months.
14. emergency in the course of the investigation, the State labour inspection official or Commission has the right under the competency: 14.1. to request and receive, free of charge from the possessor of the equipment in a hazardous, crash witnesses, dangerous equipment operating staff and State and local government institutions in the investigation the necessary written and oral information;
14.2. request the possessor of dangerous machines: 14.2.1 prepare and submit hazardous equipment or the defective parts and crash site plan, photographs, diagrams and other informative material or copies thereof;
14.2.2. dangerous equipment submitted technical documentation and other documents that are required to establish emergency conditions;
14.2.3. ensure emergency investigation of propagation material;
14.2.4. ensure that persons involved in the investigation with special clothing and personal protective equipment;
14.2.5. ensure that persons involved in the investigation, the investigation required for transport and communication;
14.3. If necessary, request from a competent laboratory, certification or inspection body's opinion on dangerous equipment technical condition and possible causes of the crash.
15. the emergency investigation related costs shall be borne by the possessor of dangerous equipment.
16. the results of the investigation on emergency State labour inspection official shall draw up emergency investigation of dangerous equipment Act (annex). The Act, together with other emergency investigation materials be submitted to the national labour inspection Department Manager.
17. emergency investigative materials are: 17.1. emergency investigation Act;
17.2. the place of the emergency plan, scheme or photos;
17.3. the particulars of victims (if any);
17.4. crash witness statements and hazardous servicing facility written explanations;
17.5. news on dangerous equipment the staff training, certification and instruction;
10.9. the competent laboratories, certification or inspection bodies prepare hazardous equipment inspection documents (laboratory tests, technical calculations, legislation), as well as specialists and experts;

17.7. emergency investigation of outside professionals and experts in the qualifications;
11.1. extracts from the laws and instructions where non-compliance has been the cause of the crash.
18. the national labour inspection department manager within three working days of the accident investigation, examine material. The National Labour Inspectorate are recorded and the Emergency Act a copy of the investigation: 18.1. dangerous equipment holder;
18.2. the relevant national police (the Department) if the accident is caused by a serious accident that injured or dead people.
19. dangerous equipment holder is bound by the results of the investigation of the accident, to present the staff serving the dangerous equipment and emergency investigation within the time limit specified in the Act to report to the National Labour Office of the measures taken to eliminate the consequences of accidents, as well as other possible crash results of a risk assessment and the risk reduction or prevention measures.
