Cabinet of Ministers Regulations No. 288 in Riga on 2 July 2002 (pr. No 27, § 7) amendments to the Cabinet of Ministers on 19 September 2000, the regulations No. 322 "genetically modified organism" Supervisory Board Regulations Issued in accordance with the Cabinet of Ministers of 14 law equipment of the first paragraph of article 3, paragraph 1. make Cabinet of 19 September 2000, the regulations No. 322 "genetically modified organisms regulations the Supervisory Board" (Latvian journal, 2000, 331./333.nr.) the following amendments: 1. provisions of title be expressed as follows: "genetically modified organisms and the new food regulations of the Supervisory Board";
1.2. the express indication on what basis the provisions of the law, issued by the following: "Issued under the cabinet installation article 14 of the law in the first part of paragraph 3. ';
1.3. to make paragraph 1 by the following: "1. the genetically modified organisms for food and the new supervisory board (hereinafter the Board) is the coordinating and advisory body, whose aim is to prevent or reduce the genetically modified organism (hereinafter referred to as the modified organisms) limited use, deliberate release, distribution, market environment, as well as new food adverse effects on human health and the environment and to advise the controlling authorities and consumers, as well as to inform the public about GMOs and the new food movement.";
1.4 delete subparagraph 2.1. and 2.2.;
1.5. to supplement the rules with 2.6. section as follows: ' 2.6. consider new food producers and distributors of applications for authorization and, on the basis of expert opinions, to prepare recommendations to the Department of Welfare on the basis of which it makes a decision to issue or not issue a new permit to the food distribution. "
1.6. to express 3.2. subparagraph by the following: "3.2. invite experts with appropriate education and experience in genetic engineering, cell biology, agrobioloģij and other specialties of professional advice and expertise for the modified organism to the limited use of the deliberate release into the environment of the distribution market, as well as on the new food;";
1.7. to supplement the provisions under point 3.5 as follows: "3.5. the Ministry of Welfare to submit proposals for the withdrawal of the authorisation, if approval is obtained, the new food can harm human health or the environment.";
1.8. to supplement the rules with 4.9, 4.10 and 4.11 subparagraph by the following: "4.9. from the Latvian Institute of organic synthesis;
4.10. from the University of Latvia, Institute of Microbiology and biotechnology (two representatives);
4.11. "from the Ministry of agriculture;
1. replace paragraph 9, the word "five" with the word "eight".
2.1.5 and 1.7. subparagraph shall enter into force by 1 January 2003.
