Public Agency" foreign Art Museum "(further – the Agency) under the supervision of the Minister of culture is the national regulatory authority. 2. the objective of the Agency is to collect, preserve, study and promote a global culture of important works of art to enrich and deepen the different ages and interests in society to the knowledge on the cultural values of the world from ancient times to the present day, as well as to familiarize the public with the news of the world's cultural progress. II. Functions and tasks 3. the Agency shall have the following functions: 3.1 maintain, manage and develop the Museum's National Museum inventory as part of the item;
3.2. ensuring the value of public access to the Museum;
3.3. scientific studies of art history and the history of collections;
3.4. to carry out educational work associated with the various cultures of the world, art history and encompasses the developments of contemporary art. 4. in order to ensure the fulfilment of the Agency's functions: 4.1 Kit, developed, documented, preserved, preserved and restored foreign and baltvāc art collection, as well as ensure the availability and promotion;
4.2. carry out and publish scientific research, issuing catalogues, prospectuses and other informative and promotional expenses, organised by the Latvian and international conferences and seminars;

4.4. organizes and implements international art exhibitions as well as participating in them, promote cooperation between Latvian and foreign artists and institutions;

4.6. the educational work carried out by using modern forms of work and paying special attention to lifelong learning, student and youth education;
4.7. appropriate competency provide advice and carry out inspection of works of art;
4.8. create and maintain a museum inventory information system, as well as define and organise the use thereof;
4.9. maintain and develop the Museum's operation required infrastructure. 5. the Agency these functions and tasks carried out in the medium-term strategy and action plan for the year and budget. 6. the Agency shall have the following rights: 6.1. to request and receive from natural and legal persons of the function of information required;
6.2. using the Museum's emblem to ensure the Museum's visibility;

6.4. to organize international projects (also expedition) outside Latvia as well as to engage in them;
6.5. independent work with museums and galleries in other countries;
6.6. in accordance with the competency to join international organizations and participate in their work;
6.7. to involve in organizing the international project of the alien;
6.8. to send employees an internship abroad;
6.9. to organize and direct the International Museum's Advisory Council;
6.10. in cooperation with international institutions to take humanitarian measures for the preservation of the cultural heritage abroad. III. Agency Board 7.
