Cabinet of Ministers Regulations No. 292 in Riga in 2005 (April 26. No 23. § 28) National Agency "decorative arts and Design Museum" in accordance with the regulations issued by the public agency law 8 the third paragraph of article i. General questions 1. public agency "decorative arts and Design Museum" (further – the Agency) under the supervision of the Minister of culture is the national regulatory authority. 2. The objective of the Agency is to identify, collect, investigate, document, and maintain Latvian Professional decorative art and design jobs created during the period from the end of the 19th century to the present day, to give the public the knowledge and in-depth understanding of Latvian artistic and domestic culture. II. Agency functions, tasks and rights 3. the Agency shall have the following functions: 3.1. maintain and develop the Museum's National Museum inventory as part of the item;
3.2. take inventory of the Museum, the related information, contemporary decorative arts and design process for scientific research;
3.3. make public scientific awareness;
3.4. to ensure the value of public access to the Museum. 4. in order to ensure the fulfilment of the Agency's functions: 4.1 assembled the Museum's inventory and related information on Latvian decorative art and design during the period from the end of the 19th century to the present day;
4.2. maintain and develop the Museum's operation required infrastructure;

4.4. studies on the Latvian Professional decorative art and design developments, modern art and artists in the creative work, as well as various art schools the importance of art in Latvia;
4.5 provides the exposure and exhibition design and accessibility for visitors, as well as tour guide services;

4.8. formulate and implement projects under the Agency's business objectives;

6.2. charge for public services provided;
6.3. to receive donations and to make purchases for the Museum's inventory replenishment;
6.4. in accordance with the laws and regulations to deal with agencies owned by the national property and belongings, the agency bought their activities;
6.5. in accordance with the competency to enter into contracts and to cooperate with State and local authorities, non-governmental organizations, natural and legal persons, as well as foreign institutions. III. Agency Board 7. The work of the agency headed by a Director.
