Cabinet of Ministers Regulations No. 503 Riga, July 12, 2005 (pr. No 40. § 7) advertising of veterinary medicinal products in accordance with the order Issued by the pharmaceutical law article 5, paragraph 5, and article 7 of the law on Advertising, the second part of rule 1 defines the advertising of veterinary medicinal products.
2. Veterinary medicinal product advertising is any type of event or statement that is intended to promote the use of veterinary medicinal products, the discharge or release.
3. These provisions shall not apply to: 3.1. veterinary medicinal products, labelling and instructions for use, which comply with the legislation on the labelling of the veterinary medicinal product;
3.2. informational messages (such as a change of packaging, Bree di Morrow on adverse reactions to veterinary medicinal products), trade catalogues and price lists, which have not been specified indications and the veterinary medicinal product does not contain advertising of medicinal products for veterinary use;
3.3. information that practicing veterinarian gives the owner of the animal for certain veterinary medicinal products required for a particular animal or group of animals;

5. it is prohibited to: 5.1 advertising of veterinary medicinal products which have not been registered in Latvian register of veterinary medicinal products;
5.2. to promote veterinary medicinal products containing narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances;
5.3. to place advertising of veterinary medicinal products on prescription forms;
5.4. the company shall in the prescribed advertisement to advertise prescription of veterinary medicinal products.
6. Advertising of prescription of veterinary medicinal products, the advertiser and ad distributor provides that the relevant information should be available only to professionals.
7. the advertising of a medicinal product for veterinary use shall meet the following requirements: 7.1 advertising provides information to comply with the instructions for use of the veterinary medicinal product in the information;
7.2. advertising information provided is objective, it does not exaggerate the characteristics of the veterinary medicinal product;
7.3. the ad is not misleading.
8. advertising of veterinary medicinal products for the public, indicate the following: 8.1. name of the veterinary medicinal product;
8.2. call to carefully read the instructions for use of the veterinary medicinal product and the storage conditions or relevant information on Le kojum of the veterinary medicinal product;

9. advertising of veterinary medicinal products intended for the professionals, the following information (it is accurate, verifiable and sufficiently complete to be able to judge a particular veterinary medicinal product and the use of therapeutic doses): 9.1. name of the veterinary medicinal product;
9.2. the nationality of the veterinary medicinal product to the non-prescription drug prescription or groups.
10. The advertiser and ad distributor for veterinary medicinal products discharge or release not to be a professional offer, supply or promise any material or other kind of value, and must not be such experts require.

12.2. the supervision of veterinary medicinal products in the distribution company representatives should be adequately trained.
13. the implementation of these provisions is monitored by the food and veterinary service.
14. If the veterinary medicinal product is organized ad-related workshops, conferences, exhibitions or other events, the event organizer shall inform the food and veterinary service of the event program, location, and time.
15. the promotion of the veterinary medicinal product to be launched after the food and veterinary service has adopted a decision on the advertiser's advertising materials submitted for compliance with those rules.
16. food and veterinary service launches check on possible irregularities in respect of the veterinary medicinal product advertising in the following cases: If the received application 16.1 or complaint about a law does not comply with the requirements of the veterinary medicinal product advertising;
16.2. If the relevant other authority information;
16.3. on its own initiative.
17. Submissions and complaints relating to food and veterinary service of the decision on the advertising of medicinal products for veterinary use compliance with these rules during the month following the adoption of that decision can be submitted to the food and veterinary service. The food and veterinary service may appeal to the Court of Justice of the administrative procedure law.
18. Regulations shall enter into force by 31 October 2005.

2) of the European Parliament and of the Council of 31 March 2004, Directive 2004/28/EC amending Directive 2001/82/EC on the Community code relating to veterinary medicinal products;
3) of the European Parliament and of the Council of 22 June 1998, Directive 98/34/EC laying down a procedure for the provision of information in the field of technical standards and regulations;
4) of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 July 1998 Directive 98/48/EC, amending Directive 98/34/EC laying down a procedure for the provision of information in the field of technical standards and regulations.
