Cabinet of Ministers Regulations No. 144 in Riga in 2006 (February 14. No. 9 56. §) rules on ship radio and navigation equipment safety requirements Issued pursuant to the maritime administration and the Maritime Security Act, article 11 of the fourth part i. General questions 1. determines the ship's radio equipment safety requirements and apply to the register of Latvia registered: 1.1. vessels intended for commercial activity;
1.2. vessels intended for the carriage of passengers, as well as training and research;
1.3. the fishing vessels of more than 12 m in length and constructed before 1 July 2004;

II. the radio equipment requirements 3. This chapter shall apply to: 3.1 cargo ships with gross tonnage (-BT), less than 300;
3.2. passenger ships that do not carry out between folksy service;
3.3. the cargo ships with a larger, 300B, and not engaged in international voyages;

5.6. transmit and receive security information;
5.7. to receive radio communications of general interest from the shore radio system or network and transmit to them, taking into account the provisions of paragraph 34;

13.1.1.2.2182 kHz using radiotelephony;

14.1.3. some radio equipment (or combined with this provision 14.1.2.1. equipment referred to in point), providing a continuous DSC dežūruztveršan the 2187.5 kHz;

17.4. the satellite emergency message from shore to ship, if the ship in accordance with this regulation, the requirements of paragraph 14.1.1. equipped with Inmarsat ship earth station. 18. each vessel is at sea, the security of information maintained on the radio at sea according to the frequency or frequencies where this information is transmitted to the working area. 19. each vessel is at sea, maintain continuous duty ultraīsviļņ 16 channel. Spare electric power source (source) is independent of the ship's energy equipment and electric network. 23. The equipment referred to in chapter II of these regulations and manufactured in the Member States of the European Union or any other country, and intended for distribution in the Member States of the European Union, a certificate of conformity in accordance with the laws and regulations on conformity assessment of radio equipment. 29. Equipment designed and installed so that the main sections can easily be replaced without complex and to be available for inspection and service on the Board. 30. Radio equipment specified in chapter II, these rules are mandatory annual inspections, carried out by the Latvian maritime administration or by a recognised organisation. 34. Ships with 150 BT and larger, as well as passenger ships, irrespective of their size in addition to the provisions of paragraph 66 requirements equipped with: 67.1. a spare magnetic compass that rule 66.1. main referred to magnetic compass, or facilities that carry out this rule 66.1. referred to below;
67.2. daylight signalling lamp that provides the ability to reject light day and night, with the electrical connection from the ship's power supply sources;
