Cabinet of Ministers Regulations No. 452 Riga, June 6, 2006 (pr. 31 § 3) computer games distribution rules Issued under the Child Protection Act, article 50 and the ninth part of the advertising law, article 7 of the second part i. General questions 1. determines the procedure of distribution of computer games.

4. According to the contents of the following computer games computer games: 4.1 action computer game (the game, which develops computer user thinking speed, reflexes and reactions);
4.2. educational computer game (the game, which the computer user uses an educational purpose);
4.3. simulation game (a game in which the user of a computer simulating a technical means (such as cars, aircraft) driving);
4.4. the strategy of the game (the game, which develops computer user strategic thinking);
4.5 sports game (any sports games simulation);
4.6. the adventure game (a game in which the characters move according to the scenario of the game and using different products and communicating with other characters, solve logical tasks);
4.7. Board game (no table games simulation).
5. Depending on the age limit for computer games (annex 1) computer games classified in the following age groups: 5.1.  3 +;
5.2.7 +;
5.3.12 +;
5.4.16 +;
5.5.18 +.
6. If the computer contains sexual scenes, horror, violence, between the view of the nation, alcohol, tobacco or drug use energizing views or computer used in the forbidden words, in addition to the provisions referred to in paragraph 3, the information in the computer games manufacturer, its authorized representative, the seller or the service provider will provide computer games with some of the labelling rules set out in annex 2 of the warning signs or, if it is not technically possible, with appropriate content warning labels. 25.2. the circle of beneficiaries are not identifiable;
25.3. the recipient does not have the opportunity to opt out of future mailings;
25.4. before that the recipient is not notified of computer games content and age limits for the computer game users.
 
VII. Closing questions 26. Computer games according to the requirements of this regulation are to be classified and labelled, starting with January 1, 2007.
27. in Latvia have the right to distribute, without additional labelling of computer games that are legally manufactured or placed on the circulation in one of the Member States of the European Union or in Turkey, or which have been lawfully manufactured in one of the countries of the European Free Trade Association on the European economic area agreement of the Contracting Parties.
