Cabinet of Ministers Regulations No. 159 in Riga in 2007 (27 February. 7.3. participates in the relevant tunnel accidents have occurred, as well as the evaluation of the disaster. 12. If the tunnel safety requirements have not been complied with, the administrative authority has the right to suspend or restrict the operation of the tunnel. The administrative authority shall determine the conditions under which the tunnel can resume normal traffic. III. 32.3. emergency stations are located near the portals and inside the tunnel. The distance between the emergency stations shall not exceed 150 metres. 33. any tunnel requires a water supply, including the fire-fighting water supply. Hydrants are located near the portals and inside the tunnel. Distances between hydrants should not exceed 250 metres. If the water supply is not available, you need to check the water in sufficient quantity is provided otherwise. 34. Safety devices the tunnel users are indicated by special road signs: 34.1. stop in the area;
21.3. the evacuation routes-the same road sign used all kinds of means of escape for marking;
21.3. the path of escape-the two nearest escape exits represents, by placing road signs at the tunnel side wall at a distance not exceeding 25 metres and installing road signs 1,0-1,5 metres above the level of the escape route with indications about the distance of these exits;

36.2. automatic fire detection and alarm equipment installed in all tunnels, which do not have the monitoring centre, where the operation of mechanical ventilation of smoke reduction differs from ventilation automatic actions to reduce pollutants. 37. the closing of the tunnel equipment: 37.1. before the entrance to the tunnels, which are more than 1000 meters, installed traffic signāliekārt to an emergency tunnel could close;

41.3.4. opinion on the security provided by the expert or organisation specialising in the relevant field;
25.7. where a tunnel designed for putting into service, civil protection plan in addition to this rule 41.3. the information referred to in the following documents: 41.4.1. tunnel maintenance organisation, human and material resource description and management of the tunnel the tunnel established operating and maintenance instructions;
41.4.2. emergency response plan drawn up jointly with the emergency services and which takes into account the requirements of people with special needs;

27.7. the tunnel safety Manager and the emergency services shall evaluate jointly the results of training, prepare a report and make appropriate proposals. 45. regular checks: 45.1. the administrative authority shall carry out regular checks to ensure compliance with these provisions of the tunnel;
45.2. the period between two consecutive inspections of the tunnel should not exceed six years;
45.3. where, on the basis of the results of the inspection of the tunnel, the administrative authority finds that a tunnel does not comply with the requirements laid down in these rules, the tunnel manager and the tunnel safety Manager Announces what action needs to be taken to increase the safety of the tunnel, as well as manage the conditions under which allowed to continue operation of the tunnel or to restore the traffic through the tunnel. The relevant conditions shall apply until such time as the implementation of remedial actions;
