Cabinet of Ministers Regulations No. 766 in Riga in 2007 (13 November. 64.5, §) Ship tonnage the tonnage measurement and evidence of procedure Issued in accordance with the maritime administration and the Maritime Security Act, article 11 of the eighth part i. General questions 1. determines the order in which the State joint stock company "Latvian maritime administration Maritime Safety Inspectorate (hereinafter Inspectorate) measures the capacity in tonnage, and issue identity documents. 2. these rules apply to all Latvian Vessels registered and recorded in the register of ships, except: 2.1 the public service;
2.2. recreational craft (sailing yachts and motor yachts) up to 24 meters length. 3. the tonnage of the vessel inspection measured under the 1969 International Convention on tonnage measurement of ships (Tonnage-Convention), the relevant International Maritime Organization resolutions and circulars, the European Council of 22 September 1986 regulation (EEC) no 2930/86 defining characteristics for fishing vessels, the European Council of 22 December 1994, Regulation (EC) No 3259/94 amending Regulation (EEC) no 2930/86 defining characteristics for fishing vessels and the European Commission of 20 March 1995 decision (EC) 95/84 on the implementation of the annex to Council Regulation (EEC) no 2930/86 defining the characteristics of fishing vessels. II. Capacity calculation 4. To measure capacity (calculate gross (GT) and net tonnage (NT)), inspection of the ship used designer or the owner of the submitted technical documentation: 4.1 the theoretical drawing;
4.2. General arrangement drawings;
4.3. cargo space disposition scheme and their volume;
4.4. calculation of the volume of other necessary drawings and information. 5. Capacity in the calculation of the free inspection form and include: 5.1. calculation of the volume of the hull below the upper deck;
5.2. the Baka and poop-volume calculation;
5.3. sea exposed volume calculation;
5.4. calculation of volume projections;
5.5. the calculation of the actual volume of the low in the upper deck (taking into account the projections and sea exposed space volume);
5.6. calculation of the volume of swap bodies (to the floor);
5.7. on the upper deck of the existing volume calculation (for example, klājmāj, here's borders, the cargo hatch cover crane Foundation .1 casing);

5.11. gross and net tonnage values. 6. Designing the capacity calculation, inspection shall comply with the following requirements: 6.1. tonnage calculation is detailed enough to have a chance to check it out;
6.2. ships engaged on international voyages, the tonnage calculation includes required tonnage calculation sheets (annex 1), with a gross tonnage of the vessel and the net tonnage calculation results. 7. the designer of the vessel or the shipowner may submit an inspection already meet the capacity calculation carried out according to the requirements of this regulation. 17.5. the ship is fitted with segregated ballast tanks in accordance with the 1973 International Convention for the prevention of pollution from ships and its Protocol of 1978 (MARPOL 73-Convention), annex I, the requirements of regulation 13, the international tonnage certificate (1969) in the "remarks" section: "segregated ballast tanks comply with MARPOL Convention 73 with the 1978 Protocol for Annex I, the requirements of regulation 13. This tank designed exclusively for transporting water ballast capacity ____ m3. The reduced gross tonnage (GT), which is used in the calculation of tolls is ____ m3. 17.6. If clean ballast tanks capacity not included in the total cargo volume (Vc) (if the tank is not used for the carriage of goods, and if the ship is an international certificate for the prevention of pollution by oil, stating that the ship operated with clean ballast tanks), the international tonnage certificate (1969) in the "remarks" section: "the vessel has the international certificate for the prevention of pollution by oil in accordance with MARPOL 73/78 Annex I, rule 13A. IV. Capacity of formal cancellation and recognition invalid of 19. 19.3. the prescribed cargo or ship allowed mark fell, causing the ship's net and gross tonnage. 20. the Inspection shall invalidate a certificate of tonnage between the folksy (1969), where the vessel is transferred to the other flag State, except those provisions referred to in paragraph 21. 21. If the vessel is to be transferred to another State party, the capacity of the international tonnage certificate (1969) is valid as long as the flag State of the vessel concerned shall be issued by another international tonnage certificate (1969) šēj previously, but no longer than 3 months. V. capacity changes 22. Of all the changes to the ship which can change capacity if they have occurred since this provision referred to in chapter III of the capacity measurement documents, the owner of the vessel shall immediately inform the inspection. 23. The rules referred to in paragraph 22 of the capacity changes means the gross tonnage of the vessel and the net tonnage of the changes arising from conversion or modernisation and is greater than 1% of the tonnage set before conversion or upgrading. 24. If, in accordance with the tonnage of annex 1 of the Convention, rule 5 (1) of the net tonnage of the vessel increases, the Inspectorate immediately detects and uses the new net tonnage. 25. Where, in accordance with the tonnage of annex 1 of the Convention, rule 5, paragraph 3 of the net tonnage of the vessel decreases, a new international tonnage certificate (1969) the inspection shall be issued not earlier than 12 months after the earlier of the date of issue of the licence. This requirement does not apply to: 25.1. vessels over the flag of another State;
25.2. vessels subject to the essential constructive changes or modifications (such as the liquidation of the bodywork, which changes the sign of the goods);
25.3. passenger vessels used in special voyages of great number of passenger transportation without sleeping quarters. Vi.
