Updated April 23, Latvian Journal No. 63 (3847) Cabinet of Ministers Regulations No. 201, Riga, 25 March 2008 (pr. 19 § 4) the rules on recreational vessels issued in accordance with the maritime administration and the Maritime Security Act, article 11 of the fourth part 1 General questions 1. determines the safety requirements for ships registered in Latvia and the rest of the ships to be registered. 2. When applying the rules, subject to the following limitations: 2.1 the provisions do not apply to recreational craft to ensure with the crew and carry more than 12 passengers for commercial purposes;
2.2. these rules 4, 5, 6 and 8 of chapter, subchapter 9.1 and Chapter 12 does not apply to recreational craft, the requirements laid down in the legislation of recreational vessels construction, assessment of conformity and placing on the market. 3. The terms used in the following terms: 3.1. recreational craft-sport or leisure for any type of vessel that is registered or recorded in the register of Latvia;
3.2. rest the maximum length of the vessel-the ship's length overall (LOA) of the bow with a permanently attached structures up to the stern with a permanently attached structures according to the standard LVS EN ISO 8666:2003 "small craft-basic data (further-standard ISO 8666);
3.3. the rest of the hull length-length of Hull (LH) from the shell to the hull aft of the bow without permanently attached structures according to the standard ISO 8666;
3.4. open recreational vessel-vessel not watertight;

3.9. living space-dormitory, mess, sanitary rooms and lounges;
3.10. the existing ship-a ship which is not a new ship;
3.11. main deck-continuous watertight deck that is directly exposed to the external (sea and weather);
3.12. main slēgdēl-slēgdēl, which is directly connected to the main power source and intended for distribution of electricity;
3.13. the main steering linkage-mechanism, power packs (if any is used), auxiliary equipment and features that provide a torque to the steering shaft drainage, under normal operating conditions to effectively amend the corner and managed;
3.14. the new vessel – a vessel that meets the following conditions: 3.14.1. the agreement on the construction of the ship is closed 1 April 2008 or later;
3.14.2. the contract for the ship's construction is concluded before April 1, 2008, but the ship is delivered to the customer by 1 January 2010;
3.14.3. the conclusion of a contract for the construction of the ship, but the vessel's construction start date determines when it is inserted into the Carina or enclosed construction, or construction is assembled (design weight is the lowest of the values-50 tonnes or 1% of the weight of the design of the vessel provided for);
3.15. the ship owner's manual-a document issued by the manufacturer of the vessel owner to the standard LVS EN ISO 10240:2005 "small ship-owner's manual";
3.16. the ship without power-a condition in which dzeniekārt, palīgkatl and auxiliary machinery don't work because the power supply is not ensured;
3.17. the engine room-the ship's construction in part where the internal combustion engine, or central heating palīgkatl;

Recreational craft comply with the 1973 International Convention for the prevention of pollution from ships and its Protocol of 1978. 9. 10.3. the ship is built in accordance with the rules of a recognised organisation;
10.4. the inspections all the necessary information has been submitted on vessels (including stability calculations, drawings, materials, and construction specifications);
10.5. the inspection carried out in the initial survey results are positive. 2. Commercial use for the rest of the vessel inspection 2.1. initial inspection 11. Initial inspection shall be made before the registration of recreational craft register of Latvia. 12. If the rest of the ship is built in accordance with the laws of the rest of the ship construction, the assessment of conformity and placing on the market, the owner of the ship shall provide the inspection of the vessel owner's manual, which according to these regulations, accompanied by a written declaration of conformity. 13. when the rules referred to in paragraph 12 of the rest of the ship, the Latvian maritime administration Maritime Safety Inspectorate (hereinafter Inspector) shall carry out the following checks: 13.1 if the ship is not older than two years, checks the documentation submitted, as well as on board the ship's compliance with the label the documentation submitted. 13.2. 28.4. the request by the holder;
28.5. If the vessel is carried out alterations or upgrades;

If the extraordinary view make recreational craft, a certificate of renewal and validity of examination result is positive, the corresponding entries are made to the rest of the ship's certificate. 3. The rest of the ships, which are not used for business 30.
