Cabinet of Ministers Regulations No. 363, Riga, 26 May 2008 (pr. Nr. 33. § 12) the rules on the single economic information classification system and its implementation and use of the arrangements made in accordance with the National Statistics Act article 5, second paragraph, point 4, the provisions establish common 1 economic information classification system and its implementation and use.
2. The single classification system of economic information includes classification and classification, the use of which provides for the classification of economic information, comparability and circulation in the economic area: 2.1. Latvia — national classifications and classifiers, which are developing country needs. At the national level and the European Union used international classifications and classification, if does not exist this classification or classification national versions;
2.2. the European economic area, the European Union's classification and classification, being developed by the institutions of the European Union;
2.3. global scale, international classifications and classifiers, being developed by international organizations.
3. The common classification system for economic information used: 3.1 when submitting information for the compilation of national statistics, creating national statistics or exchanging it;
3.2. creating national information systems;
3.3. the external economic activity.
4. the provisions referred to in annex 1 national rankings and classifier development, adaptation, use, maintenance, coordination and linking the main national regulatory authorities identified in annex 1 of these rules.
5. about this rule referred to in annex 2 classification of the European Union and the use of classifiers and primary responsibility for coordination of national regulatory authorities identified in Appendix 2 to these regulations.
6. These rules referred to in annex 3 to the international classification and classification, use the translation coordination, transition and linking the main national regulatory authorities identified in annex 3 of these rules.
7. The provisions referred to in the annexes attached to the public authorities provide advice and necessary information referred to in the annexes to these regulations the main responsible national regulatory authorities.
8. the Central Statistical Bureau: 8.1. creating a single economic information classification system in accordance with the provisions laid down in point 2 of the classification and the use of space in the classification criteria;

8.3. establish and maintain a unified economic information classification system catalog (catalog). The catalogue is a national information system, which contains the following information about the single classification system of economic information in the classification or classification: 8.3.1. name;
8.3.2. status (national, European or international);
8.3.3. developer;
8.3.4. the main responsibility of the national regulatory authority;
8.3.5. stages of maturity;
8.3.6. the aim of the introduction;
8.3.7. classification;
8.3.8. sphere of use;
8.3.9. availability;
8.3.10. the coding system used;
8.3.11. the code length;
8.3.12. number of levels;
8.3.13. contact person;
8.4. following coordination with the Ministry of economy organises the inter-institutional working group for the development of multi-sectoral classification and inspection.
9. the national regulatory authorities: 9.1. appropriate competency constantly follow the unified economic information classification system and catalog information contained in current events and inform the Central Statistical Bureau for the necessary changes in that information;
9.2. the development of national classifications and classification project. National classifications and classifiers shall be developed, if the area does not exist this rule 2.2. and 2.3. referred to in the European Union or international classifications and classifiers, or if they cannot be used for national purposes directly without topping or adaptation;
9.3. provides the association with the previous versions, and the transition from institutions under the responsibility of the existing national classifications and nomenclatures on this rule 2.2 and 2.3 in these classifications and classification, as well as information about the modifications made;
9.4. participates in the European Union's classification and classification;
9.5. upon the initiative of the international organization provides information on the Authority's responsibility in these rules referred to in annex 3 classifications and nomenclatures;
9.6. maintain and adapt classification and classification, inform the Central Statistical Bureau of interinstitutional working group;

11. Annex 2 to these regulations, paragraph 5 shall expire 31 December 2008.
12. Annex 2 to these regulations, paragraph 6, shall enter into force on 1 January 2009.
