Cabinet of Ministers Regulations No. 557 in Riga in 2008 (14 July. The Minister shall have the following tasks: to coordinate common policies 3.1. development and implementation of the European Union in the field of the management of funds;
3.2. to coordinate the European Union's Fund raising (receipt) and monitoring their use;
3.3. coordinate legislative project development fund of the European Union in the area of governance, as well as to monitor the relevant European Union legislation;
3.4. According to the competency to ensure Latvia's national positions on development, validation and representation in the institutions of the European Union;
3.5. to coordinate direct cooperation between administrations, as well as cooperation with secondary public persons in matters related to the management of funds of the European Union's Affairs;
3.6. to develop proposals and submit the requests for State budget allocations of the funds of the European Union, as well as learning to organize the national budget funds are used for the intended purposes and ensure that use control;
3.7. do other European Union fund management related tasks. 4. the Minister is entitled to: 4.1 according to competence to request and receive the necessary information and documents from other direct administration institutions, secondary public parties, as well as non-governmental organizations;
4.2. to represent the national interest in international and European institutions the European Union fund management related issues;
4.3. According to competence to cooperate with foreign Governments, international organizations, programmes and projects represent the ERS and experts in the management of funds of the European Union;

4.5 external laws and regulations in order to conclude international treaties;
4.6. perform other functions set out in the legislation. 5.
