The Saeima has adopted and the President promulgated the following laws: the Republic of Latvia State border law chapter I General provisions article 1. The State border of the Republic of Latvia to the borders of the Republic of Latvia (hereinafter referred to as the State border) is the line and this line matching vertical surface that separates the Latvian land and water area, and the Earth's air space from neighbouring countries and the Baltic Sea in neutral waters.

4) navigable rivers, along the main road through the middle of the ship; no navigable rivers (streams), by their environment, or the main branch of the river environment; Lakes and other bodies of water — along the straight line that connects two points where the State border pass this lake or body of water. Chapter II national borders and border regime article 6. 9. article. 10. article. Foreign vessels and other floating from the Republic of Latvia to the territorial and internal waters and ports and check out those (1) any foreign vessels have the right to enter the territorial waters of the Republic of Latvia to pass without entering internal waters or for the purpose of internal waters and ports or race through the open sea, subject to the principle of peaceful passage.

11. article. The State border control (1), all types of vehicles, goods and other things that cross national boundaries, are subject to border control according to this law, other legislative acts of the Republic of Latvia and international treaties.

13. article. 15. article. The temporary border closures

4) aircraft and other flying objects that crossed national boundaries without the appropriate permit or otherwise breach the frontier.

(3) the State border crossing is to be recognized as unlawful when it occurred on the delusion or compulsions (accident, natural disaster, accident), if the ship, aircraft or other vehicle crews (passengers) in danger, as well as when you need to transport the rescued people or provide emergency medical assistance.
Article 17. The Plenipotentiaries of the Republic of Latvia border agents (1) in order to resolve issues related to the maintenance of State border regime, as well as a tuned robežincident, Cabinet of the border force officers shall be appointed by the Republic of Latvia, the proxies, representatives of certain countries within the boundary.

20. article. 22. article. The National Guard participation in State border protection (l) the arrangements for the National Guard is involved in the protection of the State border shall be determined by the Cabinet of Ministers. 4) prevent persons, as well as vehicles, cargo and other things cross the national border outside established for this purpose, or other illegal means, to discover and apprehend violators of the State border;

26. article. 27. article. 30. article. (5) it shall be prohibited to use the firearm: 1) against women, persons with disability and young persons, except when their actions endanger the lives of other persons, when they show armed resistance or armed attack;
2) in cases where its use may suffer because of other people.
Chapter v service border forces, article 32. The border guard

6. Damage caused to the health of border guards, his performance of official duties, to be recovered in full from the State budget.
