The Saeima has adopted and the President promulgated the following laws: the amendments to the law "on insurance against unemployment" make law "on insurance against unemployment" (Latvian Saeima and the Cabinet of Ministers rapporteur, 1999, no. 24) as follows: 1. Article 7: replace the second subparagraph, point 2 of part three and the fourth part number and the words "70 percent of the country's minimum monthly salary (salary), what was the effect of unemployment benefits on the date of the request" with a number and the words "60 percent of unemployment benefits on the date of application of the existing national social security benefit claims double ";

3. Article 9: replace the third subparagraph of paragraph 2, the words "two-State minimum wages (salary)" with a number and the words "80 percent of the national average monthly insurance contribution wage";
replace the third subparagraph of paragraph 3, the words "one State minimum salary (base salary)" with a number and the words "40 percent of the national average monthly insurance contribution wage".
4. Replace article 11, second paragraph, the number and the words "50 percent of the country's minimum monthly salary (salary)" with a number and the words "40 percent of the unemployed person's scholarship award in force on the day of the State social security benefit claims double".
5. Express article 12, the second subparagraph by the following: "(2) death benefit the death day of unemployed granted the existing national social security benefits a triple."
6. transitional provisions supplementing paragraph 6 by the following: "6. The law shall enter into force on 1 January 2001.
The Parliament adopted the law on 23 November 2000.
