The Saeima has adopted and the President promulgated the following laws: the amendments to the maritime administration and the Maritime Safety Act do maritime administration and the Maritime Safety Act (Republic of Latvia Saeima and the Cabinet of Ministers rapporteur, 2002, nr. 23) the following amendments: 1. Replace the words "the whole law shipping and hydrographic authority" (the fold) with the words "maritime administration" (fold).
2. To make article 4, first paragraph, the second sentence as follows: "this law, in article 6, does the maritime administration of Latvia."
3. paragraph 12 of article 5: supplement a point after the word "published" with the words "doctor and";
replace the words "in which to" with the words "carrying out".
4. Supplement article 6, first subparagraph, paragraph 22 and 23 with the following: "22) monitor the classification society (recognized);

make the third paragraph as follows: "(3) the Transport Ministers is entitled to determine the first and second subparagraph of international laws and the implementing rules.";
adding to the third subparagraph of paragraph 7, after the words "the ISM Code" with the words "and of the ISPS Code";
move the third part 1-16, on this same article, the second part and express how part two 10-25.
7. Article 13: turn off in the first paragraph, the words "at the option of the owner";

12. Article 31: replace the first part of the number and the word "0.05 [permil]" with a number and the word "0.5 per mille";

13. Supplement article 33 in the first part of the sentence by the following: "the rules on issuing traffic the port captain of the Minister."
14. Article 35: in the first paragraph, the second sentence shall be expressed as follows: "the master of the vessel, the vessel's operator or agent shall submit a list of passenger and crew list of the port captain.";
Add to part with the third sentence by the following: "passenger list and crew list is available for maritime search and rescue coordination centre [hereinafter referred to as the Coordination Centre (MRCC)]".
15. Article 36: replace the first paragraph, the words "Coordination Centre (MRCC)" with the words "port captain";
to complement the second subparagraph following the words "port" with the words "or Latvian waters" and after the words "the master", with the words "operator or agent";
replace the second paragraph, the words "Coordination Centre (MRCC)" with the words "port captain";
to complement the third part with a new first sentence as follows: "information on the dangerous and polluting goods ships is available from the Coordination Centre (MRCC)."

20. The transitional provisions: off 3;
transitional provisions be supplemented with (4) and (5) the following: "4. Cabinet of Ministers until June 1, 2004, manages this law article 7 referred to in the second subparagraph.
5. The Cabinet of Ministers until July 1, 2005, manages this law, article 45 of the third part of these provisions. "
The Parliament adopted the law of 30 October.
